Alejandro has been a wonderful Spanish instructor. I very much look forward to my lessons. Alejandro's lessons are private or in very small groups, allowing for lots of practice and an individualized curriculum. I highly recommend!
Sibyl is a wonderful, engaged, and experienced Spanish tutor. Who knew learning a new language could be so much fun!
Chris used to be my English teacher at the EF Language school. One thing he always told us was: "I don't want to give you fish, I want to teach you how to get fish." He is the most ambitious and innovative teacher I ever met and we students love him.
Portuguese Tutor for 101 -able to be flexible with my schedule -having patience with me -able to understand that not many people know or understand the language -breaks down each lesson and word pronunciation -helped with grammar correction on journals, projects, any written assignment, and more -found easier ways to progress my portuguese through music and brazilian "novelas"
Paul is an amazing teacher with a gift for language. Lessons are easy to follow and very interactive. His years of teaching shine through the lessons. I will be recommending Paul's services to my family and friends.
Monsieur Kaplan was a great French tutor. I have an intermediate level of French but was very rusty when we first started our sessions. I liked his teaching style which was to let me try to remember/figure out how to say words and phrases in French instead of taking over and just telling me the answers. He was very easygoing and was flexible with meeting time and location. In addition, hes a native speaker so I really got the right pronunciation and context of words/phrases. I would definitely recommend Phil Kaplan as a French tutor!
Grace is a great teacher. She is very passionate and helpful. I learned a lot about Chinese language and culture from her.
I have had Tutors for a few different languages (Japanese & Portugues) so I have experience in working with people of all skill levels trying to teach me a foreign language; that said, Candi is BY FAR the best tutor I've had the pleasure of working with. What makes Candi fit with me is her extreme flexibility. My job sends me on the road at a moments notice and each time I've had to change the schedule Candi has been able to happily accommodate me. A big part of Candi's approach is her positivity, which keeps me smiling and always looking forward to my class. When it comes to her approach to teaching as a tutor, Candi is professional, kind, and extremely knowledgeable. Tutoring an adult comes with specific challenges, dedication being the most destructive, but Candi's style inspires one to keep with the program and her abilities allow you to have successes on a weekly or bi-weekly basis further inspiring you to move forward. As you can probably tell I am very fond of and thankful for Candi, she's an amazing Teacher and the main reason why I'll be touring Spain next year with a great grasp of the local language. Definitely sign up for her program and you'll be speaking Spanish in no time!
Delia has been wonderful to work with. She is teaching me to speak and read French, and she does an excellent job of shaping each lesson to meet my specific needs. In addition, Delia is personable, reliable, and very kind. I highly recommend Delia for your language-learning needs.
Juan is a very professional and organized instructor. I took Spanish lessons with him and my level of proficiency increased dramatically since I needed to pass the ACTFL Intermediate High. In addition, he speaks Colombian Spanish which is one of the easiest varieties to understand. I strongly recommend him.
I am really enjoying my Italian lessons with Ligia. She's patient and knowledgeable, while also very engaging. I'm very excited to develop this language capability and I'd highly recommend Ligia if you're looking to do the same.
Laurence King is, in my experience, one of the most intelligent and vital people I have had the privilege to meet - and from whom to learn. I am studying French in order to learn to speak and to read and to absorb as much as possible of the culture as is embodied in the language. Laurence has been, in private lessons with me successively: a patient listener and instructor when I could hardly utter two French words in succession; a willing collaborator in my search for the spirit on the French language; a very sympathetic coach in my reading of the literature - Camus, for example; and a ready and willing interpreter in my almost constant search for the subtler meanings of what I read in the French press - exchanges between us that go on from time-to-time by email. Laurence's fearsome "stylo-rouge" is ever ready to set me straight - whether it is in clearing up contextual misunderstandings or simple grammatical matters. I am always refreshed at her grasp of things and her sense of humor in letting-me-down easily when corrections are in order. I am always rewarded in asking Laurence's help. James Armstrong
Jean Leonard is a good teacher. Before hiring Jean, I took a beginners french class at a language school, I must say that having a personal tutor is so much better. Jean tailors the pace of the tutorial and with the method of instruction according to my learning level and ability. He patiently answers my questions and provides context so I would know how to properly use words or phrases next time. He adjusts to my schedule and shows up for tutorial on time. He doesn't look at his watch during our sessions and he doesn't seem to mind that we extend the time until we complete our lesson. Best of all, he doesn't charge extra for the time extension. He is also very responsive when I write him an email and usually gets back to me in a couple of hours. I can truly see that he is invested in my progress and I am very grateful.
She really does a wonderful job and it is evident that she puts time into each lesson. I like the homework she provides that really reinforces her lesson. Incredibly helpful! She knows the topic and clearly wants to make sure I leave the lesson with an understanding of the core concepts.
I enjoy helping people come to a greater understanding of the Spanish and English languages. I offer services to help the student looking to improve his/her grades, those with the professional desire to improve their Spanish, the native Spanish speaker wanting to improve his/her English and/or the person with a passing interest in picking up a few Spanish phrases.
I've been teaching and tutoring for over four years and have great experience tutoring children, teens, and adults. I teach students how to master test taking and enhance their test attitude. Attitude is fundamental to the success or failure that we experience in our life! My major focus, however, is international students as they need special approach and advice in order to succeed!
I'm from Colombia. I'm not a teacher formally, but I think I can help you improve your Spanish. I speak very little English, and my proposal is to exchange language learning.
I'm a teacher in Spanish, and I have large experience in teaching anyone with different ages and nationality.
I do this in order to help others
I am fluent in both English and German, offering English and/or German language tutoring as well as translation services. After completing my high school diploma at an English language international school in Germany, I spent a year assisting elementary teachers at the international school. Further, I have spent the last year of college in Boston tutoring college and graduate students in German.
At DLE, we believe that each and every person should have the opportunity and resources to learn a second language. Contact us for language lessons.
