Alejandro is an amazing Spanish tutor!!! I am a beginner and was always intimidated about taking private Spanish lessons. He is very professional and has a great way of teaching his students. Always prepared and on time. I'm extremely happy with how much I've learned already ( I've had 8 classes so far) and would highly recommend him to anyone who is looking to learn Español. Muchas gracias Alejandro.
Our tutor Erik is kind and supportive to my 2 daughters. He gave them confidence and eliminated some of the guess work when approaching SATs. Great flexibility, which was a priority!
Arlete tutored me in Spanish 201 and 202 for a total of one year. Her methods were outstanding. I struggle with learning languages, but Arlete's clear explanations and guidance helped me to achieve a B+ both semesters.
Rob is a well experienced tutor. I enjoyed our lesson plans and I feel they are very helpful. He's very flexible and didn't mind working with a busy schedule. In a few weeks I felt comfortable with the basics. He's able to taylor your lesson plans based off you needs.
Diane Brown is an extraordinary human being and an outstanding Spanish teacher. Her primary concern is what works best for the individual student and she is prepared to use multiple modalities recognizing the students’ visual, auditory and kinesthetic learning strengths. Spanish is learned as a living spoken and written language influenced by rich cultures. As her colleague and team leader, I was impressed by her enthusiasm, commitment to her students and her work ethic. As the parent three students, I was delighted by the depth and breadth their Spanish knowledge after just two years of Middle School Spanish.
I feel that I am in good hands in learning Spanish and look forward to all that Gabriela can provide that Duolingo, pimsler and Rosetta Stone have not successfully done. I feel confident that my next business trip to Peru will be easier more and enjoyable.
I have had Tutors for a few different languages (Japanese & Portugues) so I have experience in working with people of all skill levels trying to teach me a foreign language; that said, Candi is BY FAR the best tutor I've had the pleasure of working with. What makes Candi fit with me is her extreme flexibility. My job sends me on the road at a moments notice and each time I've had to change the schedule Candi has been able to happily accommodate me. A big part of Candi's approach is her positivity, which keeps me smiling and always looking forward to my class. When it comes to her approach to teaching as a tutor, Candi is professional, kind, and extremely knowledgeable. Tutoring an adult comes with specific challenges, dedication being the most destructive, but Candi's style inspires one to keep with the program and her abilities allow you to have successes on a weekly or bi-weekly basis further inspiring you to move forward. As you can probably tell I am very fond of and thankful for Candi, she's an amazing Teacher and the main reason why I'll be touring Spain next year with a great grasp of the local language. Definitely sign up for her program and you'll be speaking Spanish in no time!
Very nice and personable. Excellent knowledge of Spanish language - he's a native speaker.
Linda has tutored two of my sons over the last five years. My older son was able to improve his SAT scores as well as perfect his college application essay. He got into his first college choice. My younger son had problems expressing himself in writing and started working with Linda in 8th grade. Later he studied with Linda for ACT and got into his first college choice. Overall I was impressed with Linda's professionalism, great energy and great rapport with kids. They loved studying with her. In addition I could always rely on Linda being up to date on latest changes in SAT/ACT tests, which was tremendously helpful last year. We all feel very fortunate to have Linda as our ' Language Coach'.
Iñigo is an outstanding professional with many years of experience teaching Spanish. He also has a great track record as a writer and editor for publishers of educational materials for high school and higher ed. He is patient, through and has a great way of relating to his students, no matter what age.
My daughter was taking advanced calculus and suffered an injury during a sporting event. During her recovery she missed a lot of school but with help from A Great Place to Learn was able to stay current with her assignments. Flexible scheduling, priced right, very professional. Thank you for helping our family. Anne M.
My first language is Spanish, and second is English. My Spanish has no particular accent, so your Spanish can be understood everywhere. I am from Uruguay, South America but have lived in many different countries.
Tutor Doctor offers you a free, in your home, consultation. At that time our education consultant tests the building blocks that may be missing in the subject learning process. We do a learning styles assessment to find the best way to approach the topic. We match our tutors/academic coaches with students based on subject area, personality, learning style, and interests. Every student is taught in their own home-- one-on-one. After each session the tutor sends a report to the parent and teacher (optional) explaining what was taught and how well the student did. Tutor Doctor encourages teacher involvement and supports each family and tutor providing the best learning experience for the student.
I am a full professor of Spanish and French, with 34+ years in the university classroom. --I ONLY WORK WITH INTERMEDIATE OR ADVANCED LEVELS OF SPEAKING AND WRITING (no beginners). -- PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT ME FOR BEGINNING LANGUAGE INSTRUCTION. --I PREFER INDIVIDUALS ENROLLED IN UNIVERSITY OR LANGUAGE COURSES. I am especially good at facilitating structured conversation with a grammatical base, so that there is a context upon which to build language skills. --MINIMUM TIME IS ONE HOUR LESSON--NOT 45 MINUTES. MY RATES REFLECT MY TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE. FEWER SESSIONS THAN ONCE A WEEK WILL NOT PRODUCE RESULTS. IDEALLY THEY SHOULD RUN FOR TWO HOURS IN ORDER TO PROGRESS. LANGUAGE IS NOT LEARNED BY OSMOSIS! LEARNING A LANGUAGE IS HARD HARD WORK.
