I initially connected with Daniel because my son was taking an Economics class online and having trouble. Daniel was able to help him pass the online Economics course as well as a Mathematical Economics course he was struggling with. Instead of failing or barely passing and leaving with nothing, Connor has gained an understanding of the logical and mathematical thinking involved in Statistics and Economics. Daniel illustrates Economic and Statistical ideas with various examples and he helped my son gain confidence in his mathematical abilities and do much better on exams than he expected. He was a lifesaver!

Daniel helped me pass my Statistics course this summer! It was an online course and there wasn't much support for it at all. We talked about Probability and Normal, Binomial, and Geometric distributions (among others), and then about Hypothesis Testing, P-values, Critical Values, Z and T Tests, Paired T Tests, Chi Square, Regression, the interpretation of Interaction terms. He has also been helping me review for Intermediate Microeconomics next year and I've found him to be very helpful with that too!

Daniel's expertise in R and statistics is unparalleled! He helped me with a very difficult Econometrics course for my Econ major. We covered Random Variables, calculating Expected Value and Variance of combinations of Random Variables, Normal Distribution, Binomial, Geometric, Poisson, Z Scores and Z Tests, T Tests, Two-sample Z and T Tests,ANOVA, Chi Square, Regression, Logistic Regression, and more. He showed me how to manipulate data and do everything I needed to do in R as well. Daniel also helped me with a very difficult Intermediate Macroeconomics course I was taking this summer. The course was fully online and I had no live lectures for it at all. Daniel did tell me that it was not his area of expertise and that he mostly tutors statistics but it was very hard to find anyone to help and explain the topics I needed so I was happy to work with him. We did very well and we covered many topics, most recently the Phillips Curve formulas, IS and LM curves, and the logic relating Output to Government Spending, Taxation, Interest Rates, and Unemployment.

If you're struggling with any Math or Economics topic, I'd recommend Daniel! He helped me sort out many logical and mathematical concepts that I needed help with for my graduate-level Economics course. He was very available, he called me right away, and he does this full-time so he is more professional than other tutors. He also helped me with much of the thinking I needed to do to write my term paper. He has a network and can refer tutors for Chemistry, Physics, and Computer Science as well.

Daniel’s been a great tutor in terms of knowledgeability and flexibility! He has tutored me over the past few semesters and helped me succeed in three separate courses. Daniel has been a lifesaver to me for the last couple of months. I struggled mainly with R programming and Excel analytics in Monte Carlo simulations, using Solver and data analysis in Excel, linear programming, and non-linear programming. Daniel was very patient with me and ensured I had a good grasp of the concept, even if it meant reiterating it a few times. Daniel also taught me many R programming shortcuts. I found Daniel to be especially helpful in helping me understand statistical theories, including Chi-square testing, ANOVA tests, logistic regressions, regularization, non-parametric statistics, time-series analysis, and understanding the theory of statistics and probability distributions in general.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Most tutors have an hourly rate so I do as well. My rates can vary based on season and type of subject, but is generally in the $90-150 / hr range.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I strive to understand the educational background of the student, and then I ask questions relating to the actual subject matter and the student's understanding. At that point we decide on a plan to accomplish the student's goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BS in mathematics and statistics from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and a MS in statistics from Urbana-Champaign as well. I have been tutoring for almost eight years now and I have also passed actuarial exam P and tutored it as well.
