I have been taking guitar lessons from Pete for about 5 years now. The 5 years that I have been getting lessons have been a really good and I have learned so much about the guitar. Firstly, when I first started I was starting from scratch and had absolutely no idea on how to play. But now im able to play with pretty good speed and keep up with the fast songs. His teaching style I believe is very good and easy to understand, helping you excell in whatever you are doing. And it' not boring at all. Each lesson I have had, I have at least laughed a couple of times. So overall he is a great teacher who I would recommend to anyone if they were looking to learn the guitar or any other instrument he teaches.
I've been taking guitar lessons from Mark Connors for about 3 years. Having not played since my early twenties, at 60 years old I decided to look for a music teacher. Since I only had played rhythm guitar, my goal was to learn lead guitar and improve what little skills I had. Mark has a huge amount of experience, patience, and musical talent. I always look forward to each lesson, and because of Mark's patience and friendly approach, my enthusiasm and desire to improve has increased. Any song or technique that I need help with, Mark has the answer. No matter what level, if you are looking for a professional, helpful music teacher, look no further.
Tommy has been an amazing guitar, bass, and audio engineering teacher. Recently, we've been working together on some college auditions involving jazz bass, which I knew little of in terms of techniques and terminology. With Tommy's help, I've learned what would have taken me forever, and I feel a lot better about the audition process.
I took guitar lessons from Joe Belmont for several years. Joe is insightful, super talented and cared about my progress as a student. I am now playing electric guitar on a gospel church, and using many of the techniques that Joe taught me. Thank you Joe Belmont!
Matthew is a truly excellent guitar teacher. Not only is he a complete expert in all elements of playing and musicianship, he was able to respond exactly to my needs and wishes about how to improve my playing. He's patient, clear and also a lot of fun to work with! I give him my highest recommendation and would definitely send anyone who wanted to learn guitar to him for lessons.
I contacted Jeff re learning the bodram. He was very prompt in getting back to me. Because I do not have a vehicle for transportation, and I live way up in Blandford,MA I explained that getting there was a problem I was working on. Plus being handicapped would make teaching me a challenge. He offer to check with someone he knew that lives much closer,AND said that he would be willing to instruct me if my transportation issues were resolved. Very pleasant gentleman to talk to,and very encouraging. I am more determined than ever to get lessons!
My son was bored with guitar because his previous teacher only did "book work." Mike asked my son what type of music and songs he liked, and used them to teach him his chords and eventually apply what he learned to any song. My son has learned to read music as well as pick up the song just by listening. Mike is a patient and passionate music teacher!
I hired Preston for guitar lessons this summer and met with him for three lessons before having to go back to school. Preston is a real chill guy, with an incredible beard and even greater passion for music. He'll listen to your questions patiently (I had thousands) and enthusiastically give incredibly thorough answers that, although sometimes may circle around to a few different topics, always come back around with really interesting insight to boot. Although he's a talented guitarist, probably the best things about Preston are his personality and availability. He and I texted about problems I was having with learning a song or scale, and he would (and still does, actually) email me with exercise suggestions. Great guitarist, better guy. Definitely check him out no matter what you're interested in learning on guitar!
Eli is the best guitar teacher I have ever come across. Outside of his one of a kind performance style he has a teaching style that has helped me TREMENDOUSLY by catering the lessons to EXACTLY where I am "at" on the instrument. His demeanor is warm, thoughtful, and engaging. I can't recommend him enough!!!
Jason Martin is a thoughtful dedicated musician who has a great teaching style. He is always prepared, professional and patient. His drive to better himself while pushing others is what is truly special about Mr.Martin. He has been playing for over 20 years and it shows. He is comfortable teaching Metallica as well as Scruggs. He has an amazing selection of instruments so you can try different tunings or stringed instruments. He has you work on pieces of your interest right away, which keeps you engaged. I do not think you could find a better teacher anywhere.
Danielle gave my daughter one-on-one guitar lessons at our house. She always came prepared, with lessons tailored to my daughters skill level and interests. She made learning fun by throwing in some easy to learn songs that would feel like a real accomplishment for a beginner. Plus, I liked to groove along while they played the Beatles and other classic rock hits together. I would highly recommend Danielle for her guitar expertise and her easy-going nature.
Classical piano and music theory are taught. Get 40 minutes of piano lessons with singing, drawing and a lot of fun! There will be a performance twice a year.
I have taught kids swim lessons before, and I am certified by Red Cross with a lifeguarding and water safety certificate, as well as CPR and First Aid training/ certificates. I have also given Piano and Voice lessons before and will be attending music school in the fall for opera studies to further broaden my studies in music. I am not just opera based, although that is the best thing for my voice. I also teach jazz, pop, and healthy musical singing! Singing should be something that is always fun, and freeing, so why not learn how to do it in the most comfortable, fun, and healthy way possible? As a teacher, I will recognize what my client would like to work on (whether it be a style of music, music history, music theory, or even basic piano lessons), while hopefully providing valid insight on how to really engage one's voice healthily. Voice lessons are very affordable (first 30 minute session free). Although I have given voice lessons at a regular rate before, I really would like the opportunity to meet new people and hopefully help them explore the amazing opportunities and fun times that go along with singing!
I teach beginners and intermediate guitar students who have an interest in learning how to reach their goal of playing music on the guitar.
I am looking to teach people how to get started up to some more advanced topic by making the material easy to understand .
As a person, I'm trying to stretch this thing out to 100 characters. The whole business seems disingenuous. I'll help you learn some guitar.
I am a trained guitar player with 16 years experience in writing, recording, performing, touring, and teaching. I have a rich background in a variety of styles of popular music and music theory. I have taken part in countless recording sessions for the past 16 years and have done session work for other musicians, had international write-ups and praise for various groups I've written and performed with over the years, as well as a background in bass guitar, piano, and voice as well. I currently have multiple private students and am looking forward to take on more. My lessons are appropriate for all age ranges, for the beginning and intermediate levels, and are tailored to the exact needs of the particular student in regards to physical exercises, music theory emphasis, and stylistic focus. I have an easy-going and friendly demeanor that people take an immediate liking to, and am incredibly supportive and patient with all my students in my goal to help them realize their musical potential. I also am a certified luthier from the prestigious Roberto Venn School of Luthiery in Phoenix, Az. A luthier in common terms is a guitar builder/repair person. This is an added bonus for my students due to the fact that I am qualified to upkeep and repair their instruments, which I do for free or at a discounted cost for students, depending on the nature of the upkeep/repair. While I have 16 years of experience and training, I am still relatively young (30 years of age) and still gig all around New England with a couple of rock groups. So, younger students are at ease with me and find they can relate to me and don't find me stuffy. Conversely, I handle myself in a professional manner, and am mature and well-spoken enough that older students are at ease around me as well, and will be pleased by my knowledge and appreciation of older, more timeless music as well. While I do not mind having students travel to my place for lessons, I do prefer to give the lessons at the customer's home in order to respect the privacy of my roommates. However, if the customer is not comfortable with the lessons taking place in their home, my home will suffice as it is quiet, drug-free and professional, and provides a pleasant atmosphere.
I am a college student who has played guitar for half of my life. I have experience in most styles as well as playing venues around Massachusetts. I want to teach in order to spread the joy that this instrument has brought me.
If you want to learn guitar but can't be bothered with classical technique but still have a firm appreciation for the bits and bolts of the craft (music theory), this is for you. We will start with chords and songs immediately and then begin to integrate theory and scales. Beginners and advanced alike are welcome.
I have 50 years' experience in playing guitar. If you like what you hear on the website, I can help you learn to do it. I will help you learn to play the guitar, not play things on the guitar. I present a set of tools to allow to make the music you want. I am not a good teacher for someone interested in contemporary pop music or a complete beginner. I do not give weekly lessons. The intervals depend on the student. I can give enough in an hour to keep someone busy for many weeks. My fee is $50 per hour.
I will teach anyone who wants to learn how to play the guitar. I can teach students chords, tablature, scales, some music theory, rhythm, and picking techniques. I like to play rock, blues, jazz, and some bluegrass/country stuff. I am no shredder, but I can pick out some tunes. Let me teach you if you are interested.
