Alejandro is an amazing Spanish tutor!!! I am a beginner and was always intimidated about taking private Spanish lessons. He is very professional and has a great way of teaching his students. Always prepared and on time. I'm extremely happy with how much I've learned already ( I've had 8 classes so far) and would highly recommend him to anyone who is looking to learn Español. Muchas gracias Alejandro.
Sibyl is YOUR teacher! I have been trying to learn Spanish on and off over several years, and finally wanted to get serious. I have taken 3 classes so far with Sibyl and she's a great teacher who quickly adjusts to her students needs. Sibyl works with every level, I'm an advanced beginner and 90% of our class time is already in Spanish! If you want to improve or learn Spanish quickly( or slowly), meet with Sibyl for her affordable one on one classes, and great personality.
Before UMB, I have never taken a class on a different language due to the fact that I went to a technical trade high school. As a Transfer Student entering UMASS Boston, it is a requirement that the student must take 2 semesters (101 and 201) of a language. I chose Spanish because I thought it was the second most spoken language next to English. After the first few weeks of trying to learn spanish with the course and a couple iphone apps, my professor recommended that I go to the UMB tutoring center to better understand this Spanish language. It was at this scheduling session where I was matched up with Arlete as my tutor. We would meet once a week to go over the weekly material and she would give me pointers on how to study and clarify the words that I was unfamiliar with along the way. After a few weeks into the semester, I knew that if I had any chance of passing the class that it would be with the tutoring assistance from Arlete that I could achieve my goal. I ended up passing SPAN101 in the Fall Semester. As the Spring Semester rolled around, I was put into the SPAN201 where I knew I was going back to the tutoring center to find further assistance to help me pass this course as well. While the process for establishing a tutor took longer due to the snow days, I had one session with a different tutor until I made it clear with Arlete that I would like her to tutor me for another semester of this Spanish. We went over the coursework as we did in the SPAN101 but this time it was a bit more advanced. After all was said and done, I passed the class and I couldn't have done it without 2 semesters of help from Arlete. She made it clear that we would meet one day a week at a time acceptable for both of us and we would go over my assignments. It wasn't until small talk that I begin to notice that she was taking time out of her own classes that she could've used extra help to help me instead. I was very appreciative and thankful because I don't think I could've passed the class without meeting with her. I believe she would be a great asset to anybody who needs help with Spanish. She has quite the knowledge on the subject and knows how to relay the information.
We are really loving our Spanish lessons with Alejandra! She really pushes us to learn and makes it lots of fun. She is very flexible and friendly and she’s a real pleasure to work with. My husband and i will continue to work with her and we are looking forward to improving our Spanish with Alejandra.
I have had Tutors for a few different languages (Japanese & Portugues) so I have experience in working with people of all skill levels trying to teach me a foreign language; that said, Candi is BY FAR the best tutor I've had the pleasure of working with. What makes Candi fit with me is her extreme flexibility. My job sends me on the road at a moments notice and each time I've had to change the schedule Candi has been able to happily accommodate me. A big part of Candi's approach is her positivity, which keeps me smiling and always looking forward to my class. When it comes to her approach to teaching as a tutor, Candi is professional, kind, and extremely knowledgeable. Tutoring an adult comes with specific challenges, dedication being the most destructive, but Candi's style inspires one to keep with the program and her abilities allow you to have successes on a weekly or bi-weekly basis further inspiring you to move forward. As you can probably tell I am very fond of and thankful for Candi, she's an amazing Teacher and the main reason why I'll be touring Spain next year with a great grasp of the local language. Definitely sign up for her program and you'll be speaking Spanish in no time!
Juan is a very professional and organized instructor. I took Spanish lessons with him and my level of proficiency increased dramatically since I needed to pass the ACTFL Intermediate High. In addition, he speaks Colombian Spanish which is one of the easiest varieties to understand. I strongly recommend him.
I enjoy helping people come to a greater understanding of the Spanish and English languages. I offer services to help the student looking to improve his/her grades, those with the professional desire to improve their Spanish, the native Spanish speaker wanting to improve his/her English and/or the person with a passing interest in picking up a few Spanish phrases.
I am incredibly passionate! I go above and beyond to relate each and every lesson to the individual. I also have personal experience with the topic, so I am beyond fascinated by it and it shows in my teachings.

I'm not a Spanish certified teacher, but I recently arrived from Argentina. I can help you in Spanish oral and writing lessons. Advantages while working with me are as follows: I have available time and I also speak English.
My first language is Spanish, and second is English. My Spanish has no particular accent, so your Spanish can be understood everywhere. I am from Uruguay, South America but have lived in many different countries.
I am a full professor of Spanish and French, with 34+ years in the university classroom. --I ONLY WORK WITH INTERMEDIATE OR ADVANCED LEVELS OF SPEAKING AND WRITING (no beginners). -- PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT ME FOR BEGINNING LANGUAGE INSTRUCTION. --I PREFER INDIVIDUALS ENROLLED IN UNIVERSITY OR LANGUAGE COURSES. I am especially good at facilitating structured conversation with a grammatical base, so that there is a context upon which to build language skills. --MINIMUM TIME IS ONE HOUR LESSON--NOT 45 MINUTES. MY RATES REFLECT MY TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE. FEWER SESSIONS THAN ONCE A WEEK WILL NOT PRODUCE RESULTS. IDEALLY THEY SHOULD RUN FOR TWO HOURS IN ORDER TO PROGRESS. LANGUAGE IS NOT LEARNED BY OSMOSIS! LEARNING A LANGUAGE IS HARD HARD WORK.
RoLa has designed its courses to make sure that students sign up for the proper level. The goal is to make our classes progressive in nature, so that students can continue advancing in the language of their choice. However, our focus is on speaking the language. At RoLa, there is a heavy emphasis on vocabulary building, listening comprehension, and speaking skills. Grammar and conjugations are taught, but it is the responsibility of the students to learn them on their own. The Beginner Spanish class is for the complete beginner. Over the course of 8 weeks, students will learn proper pronunciation, important vocabulary, and two verb tenses. RoLa offers day and evening classes, 1-on-1 tutoring, weekend immersion programs, and Skype lessons.
I like to work any time, 7 days a week. I can work full-time. Call me. I have a driver's license. I can travel anytime. I live in Boston.
