Lou is fun, friendly, caring, and fair. He loves his job and is not just a personal trainer but a nutritionist which is super helpful. Even with one 1 hour workout a week with him I see results, which is hard to believe but true! He is helping me gain muscle. I love that he is conscious of the type of supplements he recommends and he is an advocate of natural eating, unlike many trainers out there who recommend terrible harsh products. He is encouraging, reasonable, and pushes me to the right extant, and is careful to avoid injury. Lou fosters healthy body image.. He asked what my goals are and is quick to respond to emails, texts and other communication. He has a flexible schedule and will work with the client's busy schedule to schedule sessions. He is a good guy... I certainly recommend him to anyone.

I meet Ismini about a year an half ago. I was referred to her through a colleague and did not have high hopes when I went for my initial consult. I have struggled with my weight for most of my life and with little success. Ismini is a great nutritionist that helped me pick out a plan that works best for me. I have had great success with lifestyle changes I have made since meeting with her. She is enthusiastic and always has new recipes and suggestions that have helped me to continue losing weight for the past year and a half. Her professionalism and expertise are superior to anyone else I have gone to see for weight loss. Since my initial consult with Ismini my life has change I have lost 84 lbs. to date and my body could not be happier. I have so much more energy and my quality of life has improved 100%. I would highly recommend her to any friend or family member without reserve. She is awesome!

We've only been to the initial session but we're going back again for more again this week. Erin is friendly, professional, and someone I think my wife and I will really enjoy working with long term to continue our weight-loss and fitness journeys.

I just started working with Holli on general health issues and negotiating through how to best reintroduce foods while on an elimination diet. I had worked first with a nutritionist long distance but found I preferred working one on one in person. I plan to continue working with Holli through the beginning of winter when I have chronically had problems with multiple health related issues including binging, extremely dry skin (to the point of hands bleeding) and arthritic concerns. I am looking forward to our subsequent sessions!

About

We have been in the health and fitness industry for over 30 years. I enjoy in a Mabel to work with all clients of all levels regardless of your physical condition and ability. I will motivate you assess you and get you where you want to be. I have numerous recommendations from clients throughout the years.

About

Although I see clients in my home office suite (designated for privacy with full kitchen for cooking demonstrations), I am a true believer in discovering obstacles that limit wellness success by making in-home visits. I feel this step is crucial for me to help with your long-term wellness goals. I encourage all my patients to re-claim their food pantry. My passion is teaching people the significant role of consuming realand fresh food every day and the positive benefits on their health and body. As Hippocrates famously said, "Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food." You will learn the importance of consuming a diet balanced in protein, healthy fats, whole grain/unprocessed carbohydrates and the impact of consuming foods, which can help you create good health for life and as an added benefit from consuming foods that help reduce (disease prevention) the risk of diabetes, heart disease, cancer and dementia. As a side effect, you will look better on the outside too, but we will start from the inside first! I provide nutrition counseling to clients diagnosed with diabetes/pre-diabetes, obesity, cardiac disease, gastrointestinal disorders (Crohns, celiac disease, IBS and colitis) food sensitivities and intolerance, weight gain for strength or for those diagnosed with cancer, sports nutrition, renal disease and congestive heart failure. Food has such a huge impact on our emotional, physical and psychological well-being. It can make us feel better; it can make us feel worse. Are you ready to change your lifestyle?

About

Hi, I will give you nutrition counseling and coach for your individual needs including sports nutrition. I am a licensed provider of nutrition and bound by the HIPAA rules of privacy. I can treat people effectively by knowing the exact nutrient needs by the testing I can perform. Read about one of my tests in the book, Four Hour Body by Timothy Ferriss. I accept insurance in MA and I have four locations in MA namely Boston, Pittsfield, and Great Barrington. I have phone and internet consultations in addition to office visits.

About

I have watched loved ones suffer as a result of poor self-care. My main objective is to assist others in developing the skills to love and care for themselves from a whole body perspective. Yoga, proper diet and mediation are just three of the tools I use to improve a person's health and wellness.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does a nutritionist cost?

A nutritionist provides expertise and guidance to help clients with all diet-related health matters, including losing weight, gaining muscle, improving their sports performance, and managing diabetes or high cholesterol. Nutritionists can help people learn to follow special diets in a healthy way, such as becoming vegetarian or vegan or developing a low-sodium or gluten-free eating plan. The average national cost of a nutritionist is $60 to $100. Nutritionists often require an initial consultation with a new client, during which they’ll take a medical history, assess the client’s nutritional needs, and determine the best course of action; this first meeting usually averages $100-$120 for a 45-minute to 90-minute consultation. Subsequent nutritional counseling sessions generally cost less, ranging from an average of $45 for a half-hour session to $60-$90 for a one-hour session. Like many professional service providers, nutritionists may offer discounts through package pricing. For instance, a one-month package with two sessions and email support costs an average of $190; a three-month package with three sessions and email support costs an average of $360; and a six-month package with six sessions and email support costs an average of $540.

Are nutritionists covered by health insurance?

Nutrition counseling can be a critical component of good health care, especially for people recently diagnosed with diabetes or high cholesterol who need to adhere to a specific diet. People also meet with nutritionists for help developing a healthy vegetarian or vegan diet, developing an eating plan to lose weight or gain muscle, or improving their sports performance by changing their diet. Nutritionists may be covered by health insurance depending on your reason for meeting with them. Nutrition counseling is more likely to be covered if it is part of a doctor-prescribed treatment for a particular medical condition, such as diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure or coronary heart disease. For example, Medicare covers medical nutrition therapy services only for people diagnosed with diabetes or kidney disease, as long as they get a referral from their doctor. Also, insurance providers more often cover nutrition visits if the patient has been referred to a registered dietitian within the carrier’s network of providers. Insurance plans vary greatly, so research your benefits before visiting a nutritionist.
