FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I always try to keep lessons relevant to a musical goal. This makes practice feel productive, and produces results quicker while developing important musical skills.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a B.M from the Berklee College of Music. I decided to do a dual major there, one in performance, and the other in Music Education. I also received a minor in Latin Music studies. Berklee was a great experience, I was able to play many genres of music at a high level, study with some of the leading minds in jazz and contemporary music, as well as develop my pedagogy.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I got started teaching when I was quite young. It started by showing my step brother songs on the piano when he was 5 or 6. I also remember in high school, a younger student who saw me play was inspired, and came up to me one day and said he wanted to take lessons and learn the bass. This was amazing for me. I've been teaching consistently ever since.
