Joe was absolutely fantastic. He showed up on time, outfitted with all he would need to mount my two TVs. When he arrived he had me show him both TVs and both walls. Immediately he informed me that the mounts I bought would work from one location in the house but not for the other. He diligently went to work mounting the first TV for which he used the mount that I had purchased off amazon. The mounting was quick and it was perfectly placed. As for the second TV, Joe was so great that he drove from South Boston back to his home in Beacon Hill to get another mount that would work for that space. Joe returned with the new mount, installed it quickly, and positioned it perfectly. Even with having to drive 30 minutes round trip in the middle of the job, Joe still charged me the agreed upon rate. In an age where most people are looking to only do the minimum and then charge the maximum Joe really impressed me. Joe knows his stuff, and definitely the best choice in Boston if you are looking for home theater or TV mounting expertise. Thank you Joe you reinstilled my faith in people, and using sites such as Thumbtack!
Let me start by saying that I wish I could give Wayne 10 stars, but since I only have the option of 5, that will have to do. Our house is over 100 years old and we are preparing to paint the exterior again. Needless to say, we had quite a "honey do" list of odd repairs that needed attention. Clapboards that were broken or rotting, the railings on the front porch were falling apart, back stairs pulling away from the house, decorative trim that was rotting, brick foundation in need of repointing, new exhaust vents, and finally new doors. Wayne responded to my initial request in record time and stopped by later that day to give me an estimate. Of all the contractors interviewed, he was the only one that completely outlined the work needed with a full materials list and cost breakdown. Others were quite vague and wanted to repair or replace more than was necessary, turning the job into something larger than it really was. That is why I decided to hire Wayne, his straightforward honesty and winning personality sealed the deal. Wayne and his crew started the job immediately and completed it in good time. They cleaned up the yard after and disposed of all the waste materials as well. Earlier I mentioned the decorative trim, he had this ingenious product that was able to halt the rot and preserve as much of the original wood as possible because there would be no way to replicate the trim without spending a ton. This technique was also used on my kitchen bay window, which ended up saving me a fair amount of money in that area. Wayne also went out of his way to find a great deal for my porch door, I described what I wanted and he took care of the rest. Wayne also offered to come back and replace any clapboard that was questionable once the painter gets started. The other area where he excelled was the masonry. I actually contemplated doing the job myself, I'm so happy that I came to my senses and left that up to Wayne. He truly went above and beyond expectations. The brick foundation including the cement pad really needed help. Wayne fixed the grout as well as re-cemented the gap between the foundation and the pad, now when it rains really hard or when snow melts, the basement won't flood. Wayne had really good instincts and advice about tackling the different elements of our project. He approached the job as if he was the homeowner with a budget wanting to spend money wisely. I'm telling you, I can't say enough good things about Wayne and his crew at L & K Construction. I will definitely be using them again in the future.
Michelle has been excellent to work with - I was initially a bit nervous never having ever used an interior decorator. We 'clicked' right away - and she 'got' my style perfectly. Her painting expertise was very much appreciated as well.. Her boyfriend Greg helped out with building chair rail and trim and did an outstanding job as well. They both were helping to set up the room and got it all done just in time for a holiday party I was having that evening - very impressed! Her rates are reasonable as well!
Kyle provided excellent service being able to help me with various projects around my home. Hope to be able to have his help if needed in the future.
I worked with Elizabeth after we purchased an 1835 house in an historic district. Some minor repairs were needed, plus a complete repainting of the interior. Elizabeth has a great color sense and the workmen, no - craftspeople - that she provided were fantastic. They all did an outstanding job and Elizabeth supervised them thoroughly with great attention to the tiniest detail. She also had some creative ideas for dealing with the quirks of an old house. Since our means were limited and we like old things, our plan from the beginning was to furnish with vintage pieces from Craigslist & Ebay and antiques from auctions. This caused us to be rejected by other decorators ("We do a lot of ordering," one told me). Elizabeth was completely comfortable with our approach and had many suggestions for sources we were unaware of. She also passed on to us all of the decorator's discounts that she received, which were a huge help. Her rates were very reasonable and she was very clear about her work plan and billing. Elizabeth was very enjoyable to work with - the perfect person for a project like ours.
Lina helped me re-decorate my apartment in the city. She had amazing ideas, was extremely resourceful and made the process simple and easy. I highly recommend using Lina!
Anouar bid for a job replacing the cabinets in a 9x10 (approx.) galley style kitchen. His bid was a fraction of the cost of the lowest other bids. I had selected the cabinets and had specific requirements for the work to be completed. Anouar went to pick out the cabinets and saw that all were not available. He also thought the price was higher than it needed to be. He found comparable cabinets for approximately 60% of the cost I had found saving me $600 on materials. He removed the old cabinets, patched the holes, textured and painted the surface then installed the new cabinets. The counter needed replacing so he found one--again, at a better rate than what I found--and did the entire job, start to finish, in under 3 days. The previous cabinets were what was in the home when it was built nearly 30 years ago so he redesigned the layout to something open to light. I am EXTREMELY pleased with the work he did. He went out of his way to complete the job efficiently. He finished the job before any other offeror could even start. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
The responses from Stephanie were prompt, arrangements were easy to make, and they were there when they said they would be. The place looked great on the walkthrough once I returned home and they went beyond the trouble areas that I had pointed out, so Amanda did a wonderful job. Keeping them in mind for future projects!
I have had the pleasure of working alongside Claire to photograph many of her commercial and residential projects. I can tell you from first hand experience that Claire is uniquely talented in both construction management and interior design. That means she is a valuable resource for clients to bring on board as early as the pre-construction phase as well as for the final interior design finishes. She brings her clients a comprehensive vision when she walks into a space from building it to decorating it. While on site with Claire and her clients, it is obvious from their interaction how much they enjoy Claire and their new space. And I enjoy photographing her work and working with her to visually communicate "Claire's Perspective".
Charlie is a finish carpenter as well as a General Contractor with architectural design talent. Over the past 2 years, he has completely renovated a large gutted loft condo and our 3500 sq ft home in West Medford. People cannot say enough about the wonderful job that he and his small crew accomplished. Neither can we, because we know that some of the situations both homes presented were extremely difficult. He converted a high-end Poggenpohl kitchen to fit the space in our condo, & the whole condo is done in granite and marble, including floors, and full of subtle amenities. And the upgrades he made to our Medford house caused it to sell at a great price right away. He can do anything with wood - did I say that before?? The cherry medicine and bathrrom cabinets & Jacuzzi surround are just gorgeous, and once done, we had to be pried from our house. And on top of that, he is a first class guy - you'll love him, as we did.
Igor has GREAT customer service skills! He is knowledgeable and patient and makes sure that you understand and are in agreement about the work/ job. Igor will go to Lowe's Home Depot with you to make sure the materials for the job are exactly what you want; I've never worked with anyone that is willing to do that. Igor re-furbished our staircase and built a built-in cabinet into our dining room closet; both are exceptional work! I would gladly hire and work with him again; HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
We hired Juliana, owner of Creative Interiors, on the recommendation from a person that we worked with. This person contracted with Juliana to redecorate the bedroom and living room in their home. They were thrilled with the results, and commented that Juliana did an exceptionally great job. When we renovated our home, Juliana and I went shopping for fabrics for new drapes for the house; new bed comforters; and fabrics for sofas and chairs that we wanted recovered. She is a wealth of information about decorating, and she brought us to shops that we would not have been familiar with without Juliana's help. We also went to an art gallery with her, and we bought a couple of prints and had them framed. Juliana was amazing with the help she gave us choosing frames that looked the best with the prints we chose. She put 100% into helping us redecorate our house. She came to our house and helped us hang the framed prints , explaining the lighting in the rooms and the pros and cons of putting the prints on certain walls. The results were beautiful because of Juliana. Another thing that we really appreciated about her is that she taught us so much about decorating. She explained everything to us as we shopped. No matter how many questions we had, Juliana always had the answers. Juliana is a kind and caring person. She is very easy to work with. She has unending amounts of patience, and accommodated all of our needs. Juliana never cancelled an appointment with us, she was always on time, and her help was invaluable. The characteristic in Juliana that we appreciate so much is her honesty. She never tried to persuade us to purchase anything we did not like. She insisted that we make the final decisions on all purchases. Juliana's words to us were: "At the end of the day, you live in the house and you have to be happy with it." We were happy when it was completed and we still are grateful that we met and worked with Creative Interiors.
Hannah has helped me redesign almost my entire house. She helped me with a guest room a couple years ago, and has helped me carry that craftsman style throughout the entire home. She’s very good about matching a particular style while still staying in a reasonable budget. She’s also very easy to work with and share ideas with. I’d highly recommend her.
Sarah has an amazing gift. We hired her several months ago, to guide us through a complete overhaul of our entire house, one room at a time. Initially, we had several designers come up with a concept so we could choose the best one, and hands-down, we chose Sarah because had the best design concept. After asking us questions, she was able to clearly articulate what it was that we wanted and the overall look we were going for. Working with her has been extremely easy. She communicates well, is thorough, detailed oriented, and overall has exceeded all of our expectations.
Over the years, I have always admired the way my work environment has been decorated. With the neutral paint scheme and assortment of well-chosen artwork and plants adorning the walls, work has always felt like a home away from home for me. A few years ago the kitchen was remodeled and I just loved everything about the new feel to it. The cabinets, countertop and appliances all assembled together to make a very classy up-scale look and feel. After a while I started wondering who the responsible party for designing the interior of my work place was. After a little research I found out that person was Pam Wilkinson. Ever since then, Pam has been a wonderful asset for me to lean on at work in terms of gathering ideas on decorating my home. I often seek her advice on what I am thinking of doing to improve the look and feel of my home. I admire how enthusiastic she has always been with helping to guide me from conception to the finished product. I have often thought to myself that she is in the wrong profession and that she should pursue her passion in the field of interior design. I have a feeling if she ever does, she will be a winner.âââKeith A.
I can't say enough about Maureen and her team! We recently sold our home and MLT Design Group was there for us through the whole process, They made great suggestions about what we needed to do to get our home in the best possible shape to sell it for the best price. They did excellent work and by the time they were finished we didn't want to leave!! They were professional, punctual, and went above and beyond throughout the job. Our 20 year old home looked brand new and when Maureen and her team finished staging it we couldn't believe the transformation. I highly recommend them!
Keri has been my "go to" for multiple projects, most recently she offered direction, advice and ideas for a living room makeover and a complete home remodel. She has amazing vision, taste and has offered ideas that I never would have come up on my own. In addition, she makes the process FUN!
Dianna's artistic skills brought my rooms to life! The walls became bright and welcoming. Rugs of cheerful color shades, comfortable chairs sporting attractive coverings complemented the very suitable sofa. Rounding out for a finishing touch are charming lamps and end tables. A narrow dining room space offered Dianna the challenge of selecting an attractive useful shelving unit. To tie this together she selected handsome chairs with custom fabric at a space-saving table that can expand to seat eight allowing plenty of elbow room. The area became a spectacular arrangement with the additional of a beautiful window cornice that coordinates with colors in the room. Dianna's friendly personalty and eagerness to please the customer makes working with her a pleasure. Dianna takes time to learn the preferences of the home owner and offers options to suit the budget and personal preferences. When a customer wishes to consult her Dianna responds quickly. It was a most happy experience to have Dianna as my designer. Because of her guidance my home is a very pleasant place to be!
Casey exhibits a level of understanding, professionalism and courtesy that is refreshing and comforting. We enlisted Casey to develop plans to remodel our recently purchased home in 2013 and she far surpassed our expectations. She provided several reasonable options within our budget that fit our lifestyle, and generated plans that our town and GC felt were detailed and precise. My husband and I could not be more happy with our home and we are so very lucky to have had the experience we did working with Casey. We highly recommend her for any architectural and design needs you might need.
We called on Norma to stage our home when we were in a time crunch and needed to get our house sold quickly. With only 2 days notice and limited time and budget to stage, Norma did an AMAZING job. I almost didn't want to move when we saw the results! With her hard work and expertise we got an incredible offer on our house on the very first showing!
Barbara and I had about 30 mins. discussion which went very well. We did not meet as I was able to get my window treatments done through a referral from a friend and I decided on them with 1 appointment.
