I interviewed 14 different vendors, eventually selecting Vista. They were the ONLY vendor to dig into all of the nuances of the project, taking the time to build full proposals including suggestions and research they had done above and beyond what we discussed. They (Gus and Raf) even came back out to the property a second time to triple-check measurements and walk us through their first thoughts, and then scheduled video conferences to validate their understandings and share the planned proposals.Through every step of the process they have been communicative, clear and open with plans, timelines and any roadblocks. They worked hand in hand with the building department, ensuring that every step of the project was documented with photos and videos, and that updates were shared consistently. When we ran into a few issues with questions about permits (all stemming from our own attempt to do the work ourselves originally) they were strong partners who helped us through the process, making us feel supported in a very stressful situation, and guided the conversations to resolution.Both Raf and Gus were at our property almost daily working closely with the hardscapers and landscapers to make sure every detail was to spec, and again continued to keep us involved in each step of the process to make sure they were delivering results that we would be happy with. Overall, Paulo did a great job renovating our kitchen, converting a half bathroom to a full bathroom, and redoing our back deck. He's a kind, courteous, laid-back, and easy to get along with. Paulo is also trustworthy and reasonable. Regarding some specifics of our project: Paulo was the only contractor who was willing to take on the task of opening up our kitchen and dining area to incorporate the sunroom as an open-concept area. After running into a few significant issues (e.g. asbestos, rotten floor joists, original deck footings that were not to code), Paulo "rolled with the punches" and did things in the right way and did not choose to take shortcuts. He worked with us, connecting us to quality vendors to acquire the materials we needed and connecting us to quality professionals to complete our major renovation work. Paulo was patient with us as first-time homeowners who were learning on-the-go how to do a major renovation project. Paulo was generally responsive over text and email as well. Paulo and his dad work well together and it was refreshing to see a father-son duo with a good working and personal relationship with one another. A 5-star review in Thumbtack is considered "excellent" and (in my book) should be a nearly flawless interaction and experience. If you are a strong type A personality (like my wife and me), you may desire more clarity and details in communication and invoicing. There was a short stretch of time where we had all of the necessary materials on hand at the house, but our renovations did not make as much progress as we expected and, therefore, our finish date was unclear. Eventually, everything panned out, but you may need to be patient and persistent with Paulo about what you want and expect. In the grand scheme of things, these are minor issues compared to some of the horror stories I've heard from others with their contractors. If you know what you want in your project and if you are looking for a high-quality human being who will produce good results, Paulo can the right contractor for you.

We used Flawless Construction for an extensive home renovation in Medford, MA. The scope of work for our project included 2 bathroom additions, a kitchen renovation, and hardwood floor installation. Murilo met with us multiple times to understand what work we were envisioning, and gave us comprehensive, transparent, and competitive quotes for the work involved. Murilo and his team handled all permit applications and coordinated all inspections required throughout the entire project. My partner and I picked out, purchased, and inventoried most of the finishing materials for the project on-site, including kitchen appliances, tile, grout, vanity, faucets, toilets, cabinets, and sinks. Murilo and his subcontractors handled procurement of all construction materials and hardwood required. Murilo’s subcontractors were all professional, friendly, and did high quality work. In the few occasions when we pointed out to Murilo mistakes or workmanship that wasn’t up to our standards, he’d almost always make sure it was corrected at no additional cost to us to make things right. We put our deposit down in mid-July and submitted our final payment just before Christmas, so the entire project was completed in about 5 months – but the bulk of the work was completed earlier and in the order that we had dictated (we wanted the hardwood floors and kitchen prioritized ahead of the bathrooms, since we had an existing bathroom that was still functional). Murilo communicated with us via group text throughout the project to keep us looped in on how work was progressing. He also stopped by to walk through the final bill in person (we added some scope over the course of the project, as you do), and also hand-delivered a personal gift at the end of our project. We’ve already recommended him to multiple of our friends in the area considering renovation work, and are happy customers who are glad that we chose to work with him on this renovation! Note that Murilo does not handle shower glass – we used Luxe and were very happy with them.

I originally connected with Eduardo Muniz in order to build a yoga studio. I found him an extremely congenial, responsive and knowledgeable person who had all the right resources and skills to do an excellent job. Meeting and planning with him was a pleasure, and he had a lot to offer in the form of ideas and suggestions. I did not, in the end, build the studio, primarily because of reconsideration of my family’s financial outlook and our best way forward. However, I was sufficiently impressed by Eduardo that I am planning to use his services for some home repairs and renovations I’ll be doing. Once those are done I’ll be able to leave a review regarding how the work turned out.

Been burned before... Hemorrhaged money by making the wrong choices on reno projects... It is good I found someone to reduce the risk of that ever happening again. It is a great feeling having a general contractor you can trust to hire the best people when doing a renovation. The work he has done in my kitchen, including the entire kitchen install, is a reflection of who he is and what he values. The oak floor was done so perfectly that people gasp when they see it when they walk in the kitchen. It was a furniture grade job. Most importantly is I return to Paschal when I need something done. I recently had some drywall repair done in my home after a water leak caused damage. I worked with David to get a quote and he drafted a plan for the repairs and gathered a Crew. The repair crew arrived on time and were very professional. They examined the damaged drywall and determined what needed to be done to fix it properly. They cut out the damaged sections and replaced them with new drywall. The new pieces were taped, mudded, and sanded until the seams were smooth. You couldn't even tell there had been damage. The crew cleaned up thoroughly afterwards. Overall, I was very impressed with the quality of the drywall repair. The team did an excellent job fixing the damage, matching the texture, and blending the repair seamlessly with the existing wall. The repair looks fantastic and I would highly recommend David for any of your House repair/renovation needs.
