My daughter, who had already scored a 1980 on the SAT, improved her reading and writing point total by 110 after just two hours of focused SAT strategy consulting with Kathy. She very efficiently and effectively communicated how preparing for this test is much more about approach than content. Even when content has been mastered by many good high school students, it is the lack of a good approach can throw them off their game on test day. I can also attest to her keen acumen across business disciplines, particularly financial analysis and writing. The work Kathy did no doubt helped keep her clear-headed and confident when taking the subject tests. Thank you, Kathy. You made what could have been stressful for my daughter "just having a few good talks with Kathy." Karen
I must say I am extremely impressed with the quality of service from the first phone call through the tutoring sessions. It is a night and day difference between Arbor and other companies around. These are the best tutors in the business PERIOD.
I am so impressed my my son's tutor, Ezra Gouvea! He has been helping my son with Algebra 2 and we couldnt be more pleased!
I recently ran across a review about Quantum Prep and felt like I just had to share my tutoring story as well. I graduated from Lexington High School in Lexington Massachusetts. Lexington High School is a huge school. When I say huge, I mean I graduated with five hundred and eleven classmates. I was always proud to go to Lexington High, we were rated number 19 in 2014 by Newsweek in their Americas Top Public Schools. Luckily my class sizes were always small and it was not too hard to get help from the teacher. The first semester of my junior year I was taking five classes. I was looking into pre-med, so I took a lot of hard science classes that gave me at least two hours of homework a night. I also worked on the weekends, swam competitively, played in the jazz band and was active in my religious youth group. That year I was taking AP Chemistry as a challenge and knew I was going to have a tough time with it. My teacher, Mrs. Compton, was great! She explained everything really well and broke it down for the class. I just really couldnt get everything in my notebook and in my head with enough time to move on to the next topic, so Id lose information here and there, making it really hard to answer test questions. I got the first F in my entire academic career on the first quiz. Im one of those people who expect a lot from themselves, and I expected As. I felt really bad about myself for the first two quizzes because I wasnt coming even close to what I knew I could do. In addition, because I was spending so much time working on AP Chemistry, my other classes were suffering. And as a prospective pre-med student, I was afraid that because I challenged myself I wasnt going to get into the colleges I wanted. That's when I called Quantum Prep for help. As soon as I had the first tutoring session I felt a little more reassured. We went over my quizzes and homework assignments and my tutor quickly picked up what I was missing and how to keep me focused. I felt much more confident walking into class every day. My tutor figured out how I best learn and we started laughing and making jokes as we did stereochemistry. Yes, he figured out within one session that I learn better with music playing in the background and even knew why! The real difference was that he didnt just teach me material, he taught me how to learn for myself. It was a game-changer in how I approached school and learning in general. So while he was teaching me one class, I was using the learning techniques he taught me to improve my grades in all of my classes. He even patiently sat through temper tantrums and low points. So what happened after I called Quantum Prep? The next quiz I took, I got thirty points higher than the last. The first exam; I got a B+. I went on to graduate in a science heavy degree, and got into my first choice for college and graduated with a degree in Neuropsychology. I highly suggest using Quantum Prep for any kind of tutoring. I had such a wonderful experience and have used the lessons I learned from him in so many different aspects of my life, from studying at the university to job experiences. Thank you Quantum Prep!
Lee was great! She walked me through writing my resume. I had no clue where to start being out of the job search world for 30+ years.
Some tutors are very knowledgeable. Some have a lot of experience. Heather is a rare combination of off-the-charts smarts, tons of experience, highly credentialed AND super warm, personable, patient and intuitive. She's been a great source of help and support for my son over the past couple of months as he prepared to take the SSAT. They worked hard and they had a lot of laughs together. He took a diagnostic test in September. After preparing with Heather he sat for the real SSAT in November and his score doubled. (I am not exaggerating.) If you hire her you will be more than satisfied.
Marcie is a professional and dedicated teacher. She brings many years of experience and value to her craft. Marcie holds a high standard of her self as a teacher, she's great with kids one on one and in a classroom setting. You cannot go wrong with hiring marcie as your tutor.
We hired Micheline after my daughter took her initial SAT and ACT test as we felt she could do better with the input of an expert. After two months of consistent tutoring, my daughter again took the tests and her scores improved dramatically. She liked Micheline, and we were happy with her professionalism. Micheline is also very patient. When my son needed help with Spanish, we called Micheline. My son enjoyed & looked forward to his lessons, learned to love Spanish, and made a lot of progress. We would highly recommend her!
Sam was an integral part of my law school application process. He worked with me to write a fantastic Personal Statement and several Letters of Interest. His critiques were insightful and spot-on, his turnaround time was fast, and his professionalism was unmatched. I highly recommend Sam and RSSR Editing for any editing/drafting/writing needs - especially for help with graduate school admissions. Thank you Sam!
Beth "joined" our family six weeks and has been a blessing in disguise. Each week she meets with our son and challenges him to get out of his comfort zone and to further expand on his reading comprehension and writing skills. While challenging Alex, she has also helped him to develop a confidence in his work and helped give him the tools to succeed. If you are looking for someone to help your son/daughter further develop their skills over the summer or throughout the school year, I would highly recommend Beth.
