After researching prices and methods of various pest control companies, I found A and J to be the best value for the quality of service they offered. The first inspection went well, and there are now poison bait traps in key areas and copper mesh in the potential mouse holes around the apt. He'll be back in 2 weeks to see what else needs to be done.

Bill took care of my bee hive problem. Not only was he on time, he was friendly and courteous. His guarantee of fixing the problem came in handy as the bees returned to rebuild. I was not charged a dime for a second visit and I will not hesitate to call Reliant Pest Management for any pest control issues.

We had carpenter ants. Pest-End was easy and pleasant to deal with and arrived on schedule. They want to sell customers a regular contract, which I did not want. We will have to see whether a single treatment was enough.....

Andrew and his team have been treating our two properties for the past few years now for mosquitos and ticks, and I must say his organic approach to pest control is truly unique and highly effective I couldn’t reccomend him more! He’s also a genuinely nice person and will randomly contact us between treatments to make sure that everything is under control and that we don’t need him. Take my advice, if you have kids or pets you want to hire GreenThumb for your mosquito tick or other pest control issues.

Ryan was extremely responsive and totally professional. We had an opossum living in the back of our shed and rats living under our shed!! Ryan came over the next day when we heard the opossum hiss at my wife when she was in the shed. The rat bait that he set in the shed is completely out of the way and Ryan assured us that our dog would be safe (even if he were to eat one of the dead rats). The products he uses really are safe for nature. 😊 He also performed a spray on the property for wasps, ants, etc. and provided us with 1-year protection because we are new to our home. I would highly recommend Safer Nature to anyone looking to hire a pest control service in the Amesbury area!

They quoted me $100 to treat my apartment for roaches. I got an email reminder the day before my appointment, and the tech texted me the morning of to let me know his status and ETA. When he arrived, he took a look at my roach and instantly identified it as a drain roach. He said no treatment was needed or warranted, gave me tips about how to close off my drains and where I could plug holes that the roach might've come in from. He charged me the minimum service charge he could, not even close to the $100 I was expecting to pay. The company could've still charged me the $100 I was quoted and I would've willingly paid it because I just figured that's the going rate. They had great communication, they were at my place when they said they would be, and they just run an honest business. Even though I can't rate the effectiveness of their treatment, based solely on this experience I'd willingly use them again should I ever need a pest control service - but I certainly hope I never do.

I own a multifamily and discovered we had a bee problem. CJ pest solutions gave me the lowest quote and said he would be there the next day. Craig outlined what he was going to do and for sure he was there the very next day to take care if the bee issue. Craig went around my home to see if there were other locations for bees. He also sealed up areas for me. I started seeing the results immediately. I am very pleased with Cj pest solutions fast and efficient service. I would refer them to anyone needing pest control services and would call them again.

We had two highly active and dangerous yellow jacket nests within ten feet of each other. The nests were located at the main entrance to our home making it very dangerous to be in the area. Through Thumbtack, I sought the services of a pest control proffessional. Within an hour I recieved a message/response from "Tyler" at Safety Fumigant Co. They were able to dispatch someome to our home within three hours. Problem solved. What a relief! Thank you Safety Fumigant.

I always interview three companies. The first two were terrible. Flynn is the best around. Brendan did a thorough investigation leaving nothing to guess. Flynn concluded we did NOT have bedbugs and we don't. I could have paid $4,000 to the other companies for nothing!!! Makes me furious to think about it. One told me the bug sample I showed him was a bedbug. It was a wood roach and two seeds from a bagel. Unreal! I highly recommend Flynn Pest Control for all your pest problems. Thank you Flynn Pest Control!

Louis responded to my inquiry in a day and then he was able to come to our house on a day notice. He was right on time and pretty knowledgeable on what he was doing. He completed the bee removal task in a very short time and let us know of the next steps so we knew what to expect. I would recommend Louis to anyone who is looking for someone for pest management services.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What do pest control companies do?

Pest control companies handle all aspects of bug, rodent and animal extermination or removal. Pest control professionals visit your home or office to identify the type of pest that is troubling you and offer various treatment plans — complete with clearly outlined costs. Once you and the pest control company have a signed agreement, the pro will begin treatment. Pest treatment can range from the use of spray pesticides and gel bait to live and/or kill traps. There are a wide range of types of pesticides, many of them nontoxic for humans and other small animals. This means you may be able to have your home treated for pests without harming nearby wildlife or your dog and cat. The pest control pro will carry out the treatment plan and, depending on the service agreement, provide follow-up such as emptying traps, inspecting access points, or reapplying pesticide spray if the pests return. Costs will vary based on the type of pest you are having removed and the extent of the infestation. The average national pest control price range is $80-$130. From a minor bedbug event to an entire home termite infestation, pest control companies have got you covered.

How much does it cost to remove a mouse?

If you have a mouse in your house you’re probably quickly researching pest control costs. Mice, although tiny, can transmit diseases and also get into your food and leave unsanitary droppings around your home. If you have seen one mouse in your house, it’s likely that more have taken up residence in your crawl space, attic or basement. The national average pest control cost is $150-$200. Costs can vary depending on whether you need to get rid of a population of living mice or just dispose of a dead mouse (or full traps), how extensive the mouse population is, and where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pest control cost for removing a mouse:

  • $150 for initial trap setup and inspection (and sealing of entry holes).
    • $50 for rodent removal service calls and emptying of traps. This visit can also include identifying and sealing entry points that were not sealed on the first visit.
  • Rodent extermination: $110-$350, depending on how heavy the rodent population is, whether the mouse infestation poses health risks, how many entrances exist and how many rodent bait stations are needed.

How much does it cost for a pest control service?

Whether you need to get rid of bugs or rodents, pest removal professionals can be lifesaving when you have an infestation. Pest control prices will vary based on what type of pest is being removed. The national pest control price range is $80-$130, although prices can be much higher for tasks like wildlife removal (raccoons, bobcats, etc.), which might start at $250 and exceed $500, depending on the animal and the trapping measures required.

The cost of eliminating a termite colony ranges on average from $240 to $400, but these costs can increase greatly if the whole house is infested. The average cost to kill cockroaches is between $80 and $130, while bedbug extermination ranges from $320 to $400 on average. The main factors that will affect your pest control price are the type of pest, the extent of the infestation, the accessibility of the infested areas, and the type of treatment required.

How much does it cost to get rid of cockroaches?

Cockroaches are not only ugly, they are difficult to get rid of. Quick and resilient, they can be hard to get rid of without professional help once they have inhabited a house. Nationally, the average range for cockroach pest control cost is $80-$130. Extermination professionals typically provide a free estimate to determine the extent of the infestation. They’ll check for the main sources of the bugs, identify bug access and entry points into your home, and determine the best method for elimination. There are a variety of cockroach extermination tools including gel baits and traps, pesticide foggers, desiccants (which dry out the cockroaches), neurotoxins, and other pesticides. Pest control costs can also cover preventive measures like regular spraying and trap maintenance. Some regions of the country are much more prone to cockroach problems than others, so pest control costs may need to be part of your quarterly budget. Cockroaches love dark, humid, and warm areas and water sources, so place traps near your washer and dryer and under your sinks.

How much does it cost to treat a house for termites?

Termites are not only creepy-crawly, they can literally eat your house out from underneath you. Termites feed on damp and dry wood and can chomp through your house at an alarming rate. The national average pest control cost for termite extermination is $240-$400. Treatment costs can be higher for an extensive infestation. Here are some examples of average pest control costs for termites:

  • Liquid treatment of subterranean termites: $3-$4 per linear foot.
    • For $75 per year, a company may offer a maintenance plan that provides inspection of the property and renewal of the warranty.
  • Liquid treatment of subterranean termites: approximately $400 for a 2,000-square-foot home at $3-$5 per linear foot.
    • The price is higher for additional work such as foaming and drilling inside of concrete slabs.
  • Fumigation treatment of drywood termites: $1,200-$1,500 for a 30,000- to 35,000-cubic-foot home
    • Fumigation is measured in cubic feet because it fills the airspace of the home and infiltrates the wood that the termites may be colonizing. The cost of fumigation is affected by the number of levels in the home as well as the square footage.
