She is a really good piano teacher because she points out my mistakes so I can get better at my playing. Han Nah is always there on time. When I am weak in one part of my music, such as rhythm, we focus on it so I can improve. When we have class, I play the piece that I was supposed to play for homework, and then I usually learn a new piano piece, but I also do technique, such as scales and theory, for example identifying notes. I have a practice chart that I check off each time I practice, and I usually get two piano pieces for homework, and a little theory. Sometimes I also have to listen to music, such as by Bach or Beethoven. Han Nah is always very happy, and she teaches me a lot during the lesson. She's really good at explaining terms to me when I don't understand them so that I can remember them. I feel like I always want to go to my piano lesson, even if I didn't understand something for the homework. "See more

I looked at a lot of other methods and teachers, but many of them felt like the same traditional approaches that never really resonated with me. Harrison’s approach was completely different and immediately stood out. He simplifies things in a way I didn’t even know was possible on the piano. I studied piano for several years as a kid, but the traditional, laborious way of learning is honestly why I never got back into it. Harrison has a completely different perspective from any piano teacher I’ve had before. After just one introductory lesson, I already felt like I had grown as a musician. He quickly identified where I should start, and even that small amount of guidance made a big difference. One of the biggest things for me was learning to play by ear. We learned ‘Amazing Grace’ by ear right away, which I had never experienced in piano lessons before.
