  • ZCK Music Production

I teach vocal technique, including diaphragmatic breathing, vocal exercises and vocal execution. I also work on performance skills for concerts and theatre as well as auditions. I am a professional piano player, and I give piano lessons as well. I offer piano lessons that are individually structured for each student, starting from beginners through advance. I offer my piano teaching based on the curriculum of Royal Conservatory Development Program. I am currently teaching at Royal Academy of Music in Shrewsbury and run my private studio. I give partial scholarship to highly motivated and gifted students. My tip on keeping students inspired is to give them the responsibility for their music. I show them how to make their instrument sound as good and as early as possible. I try to empower them to teach themselves. Music is one of those vocations that get in your blood and keep you dreaming throughout most of your life. My students start to compose and express themselves, and I help them to create a personal approach based on technique and imagination. I specialize in pop, R&B, jazz, music theatre, folk, and classical.

I am a Boston based singer who graduated from Longy School of Music with a master's degree in vocal performance. I love sharing the fun of music with students, and I specialize in voice and piano lessons. I help students to find their inner voice through private voice instruction, and I also integrate basic musicianship exercises into my voice lessons. I love teaching piano lessons as well as helping students to become proficient at reading music. I encourage all my students to become independent in learning music, so that they can practice songs on their own. I am currently living in Marlborough, Massachusetts. My rates typically run at $30 for 30-minute lessons and at $54 for 60-minute lessons. I solely teach in-home lessons, and I have flexible hours. In addition, I hold semiannual recitals, so that students can showcase their work and progress.

Vivo Strings

(5 reviews)

I have been teaching stringed instruments privately for the past 7 years, but just recently opened up my own studio location. It has been a dream of mine for years to open a studio location. Last year, the school that I had been working for cut my position as 4th Grade Orchestra Director from their program. I decided that it was the right time to open up a studio location and expand my business.

Sylvia Thayer runs Vivo Strings, a music studio that offers individual and group classes on violin, viola, bass, and even piano. Her usual clients are school age students and some adults. She believes that it is her job as an educator to offer performance opportunities as well as direct instruction.

I believe that honest and frequent communication as well as mutual respect help to foster any working relationship. I strive to keep parents in the loop about all aspects of a student's progress. My teaching style tailors to each students needs and abilities as well as parent expectations. I also offer frequent opportunities for students to perform for each other, families, and the community.

Sylvia recalls her favorite project to date was the event on Grafton celebrating the holidays, where several of her students performed for some parts of the establishment. Her students had so much fun showcasing their skills and talents. Seeing her students happy and contented also made Sylvia very pleased.

Make learning music fun and engaging as well as valuable for all levels and ages of students. Enroll now with Sylvia Thayer, an experienced and highly qualified private instructor who loves teaching and performing.

    Mark Connors Music

    (13 reviews)

I've been taking guitar lessons from Mark Connors for about 3 years. Having not played since my early twenties, at 60 years old I decided to look for a music teacher. Since I only had played rhythm guitar, my goal was to learn lead guitar and improve what little skills I had. Mark has a huge amount of experience, patience, and musical talent. I always look forward to each lesson, and because of Mark's patience and friendly approach, my enthusiasm and desire to improve has increased. Any song or technique that I need help with, Mark has the answer. No matter what level, if you are looking for a professional, helpful music teacher, look no further.

I have been taking advance piano lessons from Christie for about five years. I had completed a music education program before meeting Christie and then had a long break from music. Christie took my piano playing from a hobby to a profession. She had challenged and inspired me in many ways - from believing I could learn and perform advanced classical pieces to letting me perform with a professional jazz band. Christie motivated me to learn musical theory on a deeper level, prepare for rigorous Royal Conservatory examinations, explore voice lessons, and most importantly inspired me to teach music as well. It was Christie's belief in my abilities that helped me become an educator myself. I am now teaching piano to almost 30 students, and find that I often think of "how Christie would do this" when I teach. She is an inspiration.
