Introduction: Voix Vocal Studio is the private home vocal instruction studio of soprano, Alyssa Cox. Alyssa is an accomplished vocal instructor, coach, and soloist, living and working in Annapolis, MD. She has been teaching voice since 2005 and has a Bachelor and Master's of Music from the prestigious Oberlin Conservatory of Music and postgraduate study at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. Alyssa's success as a teacher stems from her study under Lorraine Manz at Oberlin, sopranos Costanza Cuccaro and Carol Vaness at Indiana University, private study with pedagogue Joan Patenaude-Yarnell, and having coached with legendary mezzo-soprano Marilyn Horne. Alyssa has been a performer in master classes with Marilyn Horne, soprano Deborah Voigt, mezzo soprano Stephanie Blythe, and has performed in recital with Martin Katz and made her Carnegie Hall debut with pianist Mikhail Hallak. With a focus on slavic art song, Alyssa is a Title VIII grant recipient to study the Czech language and culture, and appeared in recital at the Polish Embassy in Chicago as the Polish Studies Artist in Residence for Indiana University. As a Stern Fellow for SongFest, she worked and performed with composers Jake Heggie and John Musto, performing their music in recital. She has also appeared in concert throughout the Tuscany and Le Marche regions of Italy, was a fourth place winner in the International Competition of Song in Trujillo, Peru, and was selected to compete in the Veronica Dunne International Vocal Competition at the National Concert Hall in Dublin, Ireland.
