I am a bathroom remodeling contractor in DC and couldn't get to do a bathroom demo and I found Ed's company through Thumbtack and was the top rated service provider on the requests. Service was great and was always able to get into contact with either Ed or one is his managers. Recommend for demo work.
Siegfried and the guys from Petria, Inc were great. They came out to provide an estimate on the same day as my request. They also completed the work same day. I thought I needed another downspout, but Siegfried discovered that my gutter was level and not slanted which was causing the problem. He also checked a closet Tod replacement project for me. He made a temporary reinforcement and told me what items to purchase for him to complete the project.
Rob seems to be a jack of all trades who understands how things work and will perform small jobs. He installed adjustable shelving in my pantry and a bedroom closet. There were metal strips with brackets and the laminated shelving had to be custom cut. The pantry was tricky because there was an immoveable bracing board in the back, so each shelf had to have a notch cut into it to fit against the wall. The finished product is exactly what I wanted. The shelves are perfectly level in both the pantry and the closet. He worked very neatly and paid a lot of attention to measuring and cutting. I also hired him to assemble a large desk which I ordered from a catalog. It has five file drawers and a slide-out keyboard holder. He unpacked the boxes and assembled the desk perfectly. He was very careful to ensure that the cherry finish didnt get scratched during assembly. I have also seen some of his other work. He builds cornhole boards and finishes them with custom colors and logos. He creates original signs for basement bars and game rooms using fine hardwoods, hand carving, and a router. He seems to have a real talent for fine woodworking.
It was my first time using thumbtack. Needed someone to help make the pax wardrobe at my moms place. I reviewed a lot of quotes and I didn’t end up going with the person with the most reviews. Tim had the 2nd most reviews, background check, called me directly to see if I was still looking, and even offered to help with throwing the boxes away after the assembly. I had pax closets assembled for my mom. I assisted Tim with little things here and there... he was so friendly and easy to talk to... mom even made us dinner ( kimchi fried rice!). It took a little longer than expected but these were 92 inch high wardrobes and I had 3 of them. The doors were all aligned. Nothing broke. Everything turned out great. If Tim is around when mom moves I would def ask him to come back to disassemble them. Such a pleasure to work with! Hard working man!
Because of a scheduling quirk in a kitchen remodeling project, we needed some spot demolition while our contractor was out of town. Dante took care of this work in outstanding fashion. 1. His crew did the work efficiently, safely, and carefully. Even though they were removing plaster, they were able to leave the site immaculate after taking the wall down. 2. Dante always responded in incredibly timely fashion, immediately answering all my e-mails, arriving early for the estimate and work appointments, and finishing the job for us on a very tight schedule. 3. FamilyBiz's estimate was very reasonable, almost half my other estimates. I recommend Dante wholeheartedly.
To start, John came out on a Saturday to give me an estimate on the scope of work I needed to have done. John and Joe removed a reach in closet and a partial wall, to open up that space in a small bedroom. The project included re adjusting electrical on that wall, as well as the TV cable. They installed/ replaced the moulding and painted the entire room. They also installed a new system in my walk in closet, and replaced the closet and bedroom doors. Aside from the closet system and flooring which I needed to match to the old flooring, John took care of purchasing all supplies and equipment. They finished in less than the projected time. I am beyond pleased with the final project and would definitely recommend Complete Home Services to family and friends. I also plan to hire them again in the future.
Very detail oriented. Cleaned every inch of house - baseboards, Windows inside and out. Rosie is a delight to have in the house and she and her crew worked very hard with no breaks. I would hire this team anytime.
Overall, I found Jenrri and his work to be professional, attentive to details, and respectful. I needed three closet doors installed (including installing new door frames and trims, and also painting). He did an initial visit to assess the work needed to be done, then agreed to pick up the doors and all other materials. On the day of, he rescheduled the appointment because I had not confirmed in time. We rescheduled for the next day, and he came 1.5 hours late but was sincerely apologetic. As a result, he was not able to finish the door installations in one day, so we set up another day for him to come back. He was on time the second day. Jenrri worked efficiently and professionally. He did a very good job and seemed to have a lot of experience and knowledge. He also made sure to clean up afterwards, even though I told him he didn't need to. I am pleased with the outcome.
I just purchased a new home and wanted the entire house painted before I moved in the following weekend. Marvin came out to see me on Sunday . I was comfortable with his quote and time frame for completion which was 4-5 days . I emphasized I wanted my house painted before I moved in the following Sunday . He assured me it would be done by Friday . It was done by Friday . Marvin and his crew , painted, changed light fixtures, electrical face plates, and put recess lights and shelves in a closet in my man cave. Marvin was professional from start to finish. Thanks Marvin
Paul's work was excellent. He came on-site to provide an estimate then performed the work exactly as he described. The price was very reasonable. He removed the old damaged drywall, installed 2x6 support boards between the frames then hung and painted new drywall and reinstalled the closet shelving with new support brackets. The closet shelves will never fall again! :-) The job site was always thoroughly cleaned before he left for the day. A true professional.
Cristian was great. Assembled furniture, installed closet shelving, did some nice wallpapering too. He worked quickly. He was also very honest about his skills, advising that i should use a different expert for some other tasks I had to do bc he thought someone else could do a better job for me. Would hire again!
James and his team were fantastic! We hired them for a closet demo and wall demo. Ahead of the work, I appreciated how professional they were with the walk through and contract. During the course of the job his team was prompt, efficient, and made sure everything was cleaned up afterwards. The quality of work itself was great- they did a super job. I look forward to working with James again on future projects!
Sam did a great job for us. He built custom shelves inside our bedroom closet, and it looks fabulous! He also helped with a few other odds and ends around the house. He arrived when he promised and cleaned up after himself, and he was pleasant to work with. We'd highly recommend him.
Robert was fantastic, I highly recommend his services. He works hard to get the job done, and the final product is always perfect. He completes complicated jobs in a very short time, and his pricing is excellent. He is professional and punctual. He successfully assembled a queen bed and a crib, installed closet doors, shifted furniture, installed a door handle and drawer knobs, and cleverly solved a problem I was having with a defective box spring, among other jobs. I would definitely hire him again and highly recommend his services.
I tried to write a review last week about the wonderful experience I had with MJ Home Services but by mistake I clicked the post review button before I had a chance to write my review. Therefore this review is in addition to the other review dated 12-22-12 from Mark S. I used MJ Home Services to treat mold in my attic, clean my ventilation system and carpets throughout my entire house, fix a leaking toilet, and to repair some drywall in my living room that was damaged by water in several places (due to the toilet on the floor above it apparently slowing leaking over a perioid of years). Due to my busy work schedule, John and Wayne (workman who came to my house) were extremely accommodating and flexible by performing the above services on a Saturday, a Sunday, and on a Wednesday night. All of the above services were performed with superior workmanship and at very reasonable prices. I know this because I had 2 other estimates before I selected MJ Home Services to perform the work. John was extremely knowledgeable about all of the above services performed. In addition, both John and Wayne were very neat, professional and courteous when performing all the work. In summary, if you want superior workmanshipcombined with very reasonable prices you owe it to yourself to use mJ Home Services for any water damage, mold, ventilation system or carpet cleaning services.
My experience with Mike was awesome from my initial email to the minute he completed the work. It is difficult to find a contractor who is honest, knowledgeable, fair, professional, and friendly. Mike is the total package and no job is too big or too small for him. My closet shelving and hanging rods fell to the floor one morning. One company said it fell because it was cheap shelving and quickly provided a $745 solution. Mike saw that it wasn't the shelving but that it was installed incorrectly. He was able to reuse the shelving and recommended a way to increase use of space in the closet. He ended up improving both closets in that room, and 3 other small projects I had been unable to address; and the price was right! Mike is now my "go to" contractor for all projects in my home. I trust him, his knowledge and his work!
Valle Remodeling completely re-did my closet (a small job, performed with very high quality). They procured appropriate materials for a good value, installed them professionally, and totally met my needs. They were flexible enough to work with me to accommodate my schedule. The work was done quickly and well for a good price and a good value. Very professional. Definitely recommend, definitely will call again for next job whether big or small.
Framing and drywall was needed in a closet of my rental property after I had some air ducts replaced. I already took pictures and I needed a simple estimate. Since I took detailed pictures and knew of the measurements. I figured a straight forward quote is what I needed. Olvin was able to give me a quote right away. He was very professional, prompt and considerate. He was very attentive and even went above and beyond to make sure I was 100 percent satisfied with his work. I would definitely recommend him again for work at my rental property and possibly my own home. Good Job!
Chris was professional and my tenant was very satisfied with the work. After letting us know, He came before the initial time scheduled. He was quick and he was flexible with rhe scope of the original scope. Only thing was that my tenant wanted to asked him if he would like an extra closet door that never been used. It was in the basement. But he left before she could ask him. Thanks for the work. I would use you again for other future repairs. Thanks.
Larry's guys did some great work. My wife and I concocted a plan to divide our oblong bedroom and extend the closet. Larry's foreman Carlos made short work of tearing out the old front wall of the closet, framing a new extended wall and adding a wall with pocket doors to turn one long room into two.
