FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Like with any other professional, I am still practicing, taking lessons, coaching, reading up on articles in the field, and performing! I began my vocal studies at a young age, growing up with pop music and karaoke and singing with San Marino's award-winning Chamber Choir. My extensive vocal education includes training with the Intimate Opera Company, Songfest Young Artist Program, Barcelona Festival of Song, Hawaii Performing Arts Festival, The Amalfi Coast Music Festival and Institute, OperaWorks, and Music Theater Bavaria. A recent Peabody Conservatory graduate, I studied under world-renowned 20th century vocal repertoire interpreter, Phyllis Bryn-Julson. Prior to my studies at the Peabody Institute, I attended the University of California, Irvine, studying voice under the tutelage of Dr. Darryl Taylor. During my undergraduate work, I received numerous honors and recognitions including The Bette and Steven Warner Scholarship, The Ann & Gordon Getty Foundation Music Scholarship, Artsbridge Scholarship, and UROP and SURP fellowships. As an advocate for arts education, I worked with the Creative Connections outreach program at the Claire Trevor School of Arts, bringing music curricula to underfunded K-8 classrooms. Additionally, I was a founding member and leader of Clair de Lune A Cappella, an all treble-voice performing group at UCI. From karaoke to a cappella, from choral to opera, my well-rounded background makes me an ideal teacher for any singer!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Easy- I love singing, and I love sharing that with other people, whether it's as a performer or as a teacher!
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Anyone can sing! Our goals will be different if we're singing as a hobby or as a professional pursuit, but I will help you to the best of my ability and I will push you to work to your potential. And likewise what you put into these lessons and your practicing is what you will get out of it. I've taught complete beginners to those embarking on a singing career, and no matter what, we will always be learning, progressing, and having fun.
