I have been taking lessons from Sam for about two months now. I am an adult who is coming to vocal training with little experience in singing other than some high school chorus and performances. And I am so glad I did! Sam was immediately welcoming, encouraging, and warm. He is clearly a wonderful person and it shows right away. But maybe more importantly, he is an extremely talented singer, performer and instructor. I really wanted an experienced and sophisticated teacher who will not just encourage me but teach me, push me, and help me to advance and become an accomplished performer. Sam has a great reputation and teaches many advanced, even famous singers but he is also great for beginners. He teaches you not just singing technique but how to develop as a musician both technically and emotionally. Before starting with Sam, I took a few lessons with others who start you off the bat with sheet music and just singing. That doesn't work in my view. Singing is difficult (more difficult than I expected actually) and to progress you have to understand theory, rhythm, timing and phrasing. Sam starts you with these kinds of lessons so that when you start singing you understand the music itself, not just technique. In short, you won't find a better teacher or person than Sam so if you are interested in progressing either as a beginner or an experienced singer, please check him out. You won't be disappointed.
Alyssa is very knowledgable about all aspects of vocal technique including the anatomy of what it takes to produce sound. She explains these concepts very well. I believe after only two lessons, I have a much better understanding of proper vocal technique. I truly feel that I will become a better singer as I continue to take lessons from Alyssa.
I am taking voice lessons to improve my singing voice many years after once being involved in musical theater. Sammy is a fantastic teacher. He is so incredibly talented and amazingly patient. We have made great progress and I always leave my lesson excited and encouraged. I have learned so much and plan to continue my lessons. What a find!
Nicole is a wonderful teacher. I had never had singing lessons before but she made me feel totally at ease. Her teaching method is totally individualized and I learn something new every week. She is very encouraging, has a broad knowledge of many different styles of music and enjoys exploring these with her students. Nicole has a very pleasant manner, a sense of humor and lessons are fun!
First lesson we worked on breathing, Yulia Is very patient and I look forward to more lessons.
As a non native English speaker I found myself hundreds (if not thousands) of times avoiding to use words I did not know how to pronounce or being judged because of my accent. In some way I was pulling myself back and I needed to step forward and "find my voice". I found a new strength and freedom in my voice practices with Alexandra and also could sing! Her lessons are amazing, she does not only work with your voice but with your whole person; she uses amazing techniques to release the tension in your body so you can project your voice with power and relaxation and also connect to your emotions. She fluently leverages work and compassion for the students and is always glad to offer different options to help you to accomplish each exercise successfully according to your own pace and ability. Working with Alexandra will empower you to find your best with professionalism, love and happiness. Thank you Alexandra!
Singing lessons. Just starting out but Caitlin has been wonderful. Very patient and encouraging.
Mr. Walls is an enthusiastic and patient teacher. As a choir member at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton for the past fifteen years, I have been able to sing liturgical music, and participate with other choirs in singing more complex pieces of music, such as requiems and compositions for rites of the church and special occasions. Our choir has sung in various languages, and joined other choirs in ecumenical choir fests. Mr. Walls has studied music composition, conducting, and history, and is an accomplished musician on several instruments, including the piano, organ, and guitar. He has several years teaching experience in the U.S. and abroad. I would say Mr. Walls' expertise and talent are second to none.
Charles is the best. Ive been taking singing lessons for 17 weeks or so and i hear a tremendous difference in the way my voice sounds. On the first day he will give you a broad overview covering his techniques. Then you can pick and choose what you would like to learn. Charles will give you simple drills that might feel a bit funny when you first try them, but if you just do what he says and practice for an hour or two per week you will magically get a little better each week because Charles knows his stuff. His knowledge comes from experience and academic papers he has read vigorously. Just do what the guy says and dont forget to practice, and i promise you will improve. People who have said I would never be a good singer have retracted their statements and admitted they were wrong after only 12 weeks!
Singing in church choirs has been a wonderful outlet and enabled me to find a community as I moved every few years to different parts of the globe. Finally putting down roots, I wanted to find a voice coach who would help me improve breath control, strengthen the range of my voice, and improve the overall quality of my singing. I am blessed to have found Keely Bosworth Borland, a gifted soprano and performer. Keely has been the perfect coach for me. She has a unique ability to both nurture and push me. Keely has identified and helped me work on my breath control. She has used a wide variety of music to foster my confidence while stretching my vocal range. Her lessons include a selection of vocal warm-ups and breathing exercises each week that compliment the music we sing. I have found that recording her lessons and rehearsing them between lessons to be of great help. I highly recommend Keely to anyone looking for a voice coach from the novice to the serious performer.
What a great fortune to find my perfect singing instructor through this site. Diane is a pleasure to work with. She made me feel. Try confortable and explained what goes into good singing technique and I can already see an improvement since my second lesson. She is very professional and very friendly. Very respectful and has a great way of explaining things. The price is very reasonable and she is very patient. I never took singing lessons before and have not studied music, but she was willing to teach me from nothing and I quickly learned enough to improve a lot in a little time. I can't wait to tale more lessons and get even better. I highly recommend her especially to other females that are looking for an instructor they can trust and feel safe going to her home studio and directions are easy along with a large parking lot which makes it all convenient safe and efficient. Thank you Diane!
I highly recommend taking vocal lessons from Rob. Working with Rob was fantastic. I wasn't sure about my vocals, so I started taking lessons from him not too long ago. He goes into great detail of what vocal exercises to practice, and how to do them. He'll also answer any question you have about vocals. Even if you can't meet him in person to do the lesson, he does offer online lessons. I intend to take more lessons from Rob in the future.
Vicki is a patient teacher and can adapt to different styles depending on your child or adult. She can teach at any level and even can add voice lessons. My son has never been happier!
Maddie is without a doubt the best vocal teacher you will come across. After only a few months of lessons, I was singing like a new person. I feel confident that I have gotten top notch training and have the confidence I need to be successful in the musical theatre industry. I came in with some vocal issues (straining, fatigue and bad habits) and Maddie gave me tricks to make sure I was singing healthily and in a way that I could sustain. Not the mention she is the sweetest, kindest person you'll meet. I am forever greatful for Maddie and the tools she has given me. If you are looking for a vocal teacher, you can't find someone better than Maddie.
My daughter is loving her piano lessons with Annie! She is so kind and patient with her.
Carol is a wonderful voice teacher full of encouragement and wisdom. She has worked with me on specific goals and has implemented her knowledge and experience to help me attain my goals. Carol is extremely personable and a joy to work with. I know she has helped many succeed in whatever facet they needed and I highly recommend her to other people seeking voice lessons!
Rana was always very professional, and her knowledge and expertise of the content area of vocal training and techniques were quite evident in her instructions. She came adequately prepared for every class and personalized the lessons to suit my very specific needs. She also offered flexibility in her scheduling to allow me to take classes with her despite my tight schedule. I highly recommend Rana Berryman for vocal lessons and may continue classes should schedules permit.
The vocal technique that I learned from Dorothy Miller completely transformed my voice and my career as a singer. Dorothy’s teaching focuses on the implications of classical, consistent technique within all different styles of music. Voice lessons with Dorothy combine this teaching of safe, anchored singing while exploring the exciting world of performance and audition repertoire. For me, I started working with Dorothy at the age of 12. I had been singing my whole life, but my throat was constantly sore and I had no access to higher ranges. In my 6 years of study with her, I was able to expand my range and vocal versatility, lay down a firm technique and develop a passion for new types of music. Dorothy works to develop an authentic, individual relationship with each student, and over the years I can genuinely say she has become like a second mother to me. She additionally helped me to navigate and prepare for the college audition process, and I completely credit her in my acceptance to the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University!
Max Kuzmyak is a very knowledgeable musician with a large skill set that is useful in the music industry. He can teach trumpet, guitar, voice, and has extensive theory knowledge as well. He is also well versed in recording and audio engineering. Max is very friendly, easy to work with, and professional. I would highly recommend working with him if you are looking for a private teacher, or a recorder.
