Daniela Q. says, "We are extremely thankful and satisfied with the training performed by Cerberus K9. Starting with the responsiveness and communication, since the very first time we spoke I my husband and I felt confident of their skills. Our dog “Hunter” is a pretty large chocolate Lab and he is one of the most energetic and renegade dogs we have seen. Before his training he would not listen to anyone but my husband. He thought he was the only with authority to do anything he would like around the house. For me it was imposible to even take him out for a walk without getting dragged through the streets. He would try to go to other dogs and people in the streets. After 2 weeks of training these guys turned around Hunters behavior tremendously. I can now walk him, he follows commands, and even his behavior around the house improved. We are very happy with the new version of our companion. We will continue training Hunter with you guys, we have definitely seen a night and day change. Thanks for your availability, communication, and professionalism. It is not hard to let our partner go with anyone else other than us. However, we know you all took good care of him."See more

Rachel E. says, "Adam is incredibly responsive and communicative. We felt supported and we could tell he was a knowledgeable professional right away just via our written messages. In just two sessions, he helped us understand our rescue dog, Dexter (about 1 year old, previously a stray) and we saw progress in reducing jumping and biting after using what we learned in session one after only a few days. Adam modeled for us how to play with Dexter and walk him in ways that stimulate him, build our relationship, and teach discipline at the same time. Because of Adam’s experience and deep knowledge of canine behavior, he was able to see that our “leash reactive,” mouthy puppy really just wants to play and has a lot of energy to get out. Once we took Dexter to an area where he could meet and play with other dogs off leash and run to his heart’s content, we saw a whole new side of our puppy. We wouldn’t have been brave enough to try that without Adam’s encouragement - he earned our trust through his professionalism and respect for our voices in how we want to train our dog. Adam is willing to try different methods based on the humans’ comfort level, but he is not remotely pushy or dogmatic about specific methods. We are thrilled that we chose Adam to help us with Dexter and give him our highest recommendation."See more

Bri J. says, "Evan was absolutely amazing with my dog—I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment we connected, he was professional, responsive, and clearly passionate about what he does. You can tell right away that he treats dogs like family, not just a job. My dog can be a little anxious in new environments, but Evan made him feel comfortable almost immediately. Throughout the stay, I received regular updates, photos, and videos, which gave me so much peace of mind. It was clear my dog was not only safe, but genuinely happy—playing, relaxing, and getting tons of attention. His home was clean, organized, and set up perfectly for dogs. I also really appreciated how intentional he was about safety and keeping a calm environment. When I picked my dog up, he was relaxed, well cared for, and honestly seemed like he had a vacation of his own. If you’re looking for someone trustworthy, professional, and truly caring, Evan is the one. I’ll definitely be booking again."See more

FAQs

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

Pet sitting provides your precious pet with in-home care. A pet-sitter can make a brief visit during the day to provide snacks, playtime or affection, or stay at your house for one or more nights to tend to your pet. Prices for pet-sitting will vary based on length of the visit. Nationally, pet sitting prices range from $20 to $30, although prices run higher for your sitter to stay the night. Prices will also be affected by where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pet-sitting prices based on length of time and region:

  • 30-minute visit: $17 in a small Texas town.
  • 30-minute visit: $25 in Southern California.
    • 45-minute visit: $28.
    • 60-minute visit: $32.
  • Overnight stay (10 hours): $50 in Texas.
  • Overnight stay (10 hours): $85 in Southern California.
    • 12 hours: $100.
    • 24 hours: $200. This is a good option for a sick, elderly or brand-new pet that needs constant supervision.

House-sitting can be a lifesaver when you’re leaving town for any length of time. Whether you work remotely, you’re taking a much-needed vacation, or you just want to road-trip for a few days, it’s wise to have a pro keep an eye on your house and pets while you’re gone. Your home is more likely to stay safe and you won’t have to wrangle the kitty into a kennel to travel with you. The national average pet-sitting price ranges between $20 and $30. Pet-sitting and house-sitting costs will vary based on where you live in the country and regional labor rates. Another factor in cost is how long you want the house-sitter to stay. Some people prefer to have the house-sitter stay the night at their house, perhaps to care for an elderly pet or simply to keep a watchful eye on the home at all times. Overnight stays will cost more, ranging anywhere from $50 to $100, depending on services provided. For day visits, house-sitting and pet-sitting prices will increase incrementally the longer the visit and the more service you want performed. For example, a quick 10-minute visit to feed and walk the pet and bring in the mail could be $12.50, a 25-minute visit could be $18, a 40-minute visit $25, and a 50-minute visit $32.
