I think the thing that separates me is my unique breadth of past experiences. Because I have sung nearly every popular style available, I am able to help students meet their goals whether they want to sing powerful ballads or rock anthems, blues & jazz, or belt out their favorite metal songs. I focus on the key ingredients and techniques necessary to strengthening their voice, gaining agility and control over their breath, dynamics, tone, etc., and achieving flexibility with their instrument...and then I show them how to apply these skills to their favorite styles, such as opera, jazz, show tunes, pop, rock, rap, dance, techno, country, r&b, soul, hip-hop, oldies, standards, etc. I have been very fortunate to gain experience in all of these genres at one time or another, and I am a fan of all of them, so it makes it easy for me to relate to a student's specific goals. I love helping people discover something that has always been inside them, abilities that they may have admired and longed for, but never realized they themselves could have. Seeing someone musically awaken, and then slowly blossom--becoming increasingly more aware of their full potential over time, and then working hard to reach their dreams and goals-- is a true joy matched by few other things on Earth. I love being able to share what I know with others, so that they, too, can enjoy their voices, and use them to their full capacity throughout their lives.
