Keith is a drummers, drummer. Aside from being an exceptional drum instructor, he has LOADS of touring experience, professionally recorded, numerous workings with "Big Names" in the music industry, and not to mention the grammy's are quite impressive :-) Keith not only taught me how to read drum music, but he encouraged me relentlessly when it sometimes became challenging, as things worth while often are. He explained the ever important role of 'time management' in music and how it not only affects music, but also that it affects every aspect of our lives. Keith has been a mentor and also a friend. As a person with my own successes in the industry, I have found a profound inspiration from Keith. I cherish our 30 min together and wouldn't trade them for anything. I highly recommend Keith as a drum teacher for ALL ages.

We just started lessons with Ms Wanlu. My daughter’s first class was incredible in my opinion. She tapped into things that no other instructor ever did. She is clearly a young and talented instructor. We are excited about our future lessons!

Although we ultimately decided my nearly 3-yr-old son is still too young for drum lessons, the lesson went well. Marty reviewed the names of the different drums in a drum set, let my son play them some, and then tried some rhythm exercises by clapping and counting. He is very patient and good with children.

We have used Dominic Thompson, Sr. at our services and he has been so professional. Always on time and he goes over and beyond what is asked. We needed our drums tuned and he did it with no hesitation because excellence is what he is about. You won't be disappointed with this young man.

I wanted to learn to play Ukelele and YouTube wasn't really helping, so I started to get lessons with Luis cause I had seen him playing and saw some of his students playing as well. I was surprised I was playing my first chords in no time. He was so patient and made me believe I could do it and gave me that push to keep trying when I wanted to give up cause my fingers are so small, and I thought I was never gonna be able to get the chords right, but he would encourage me every class and even took the trouble to place my fingers the right way every time. I messed up a lot but he never made me feel bad about it, not even with facial expressions like other teachers do. I really appreciate the effort and interest he puts in every lesson. He's a very talented, experienced musician and a super patient teacher. Would totally recommend. 10/10

I have taught lessons for the past three years in a small percussion studio I hold at my home. I performed in multiple ensembles when in college, such as percussion ensemble, African drumming ensemble, world mallet keyboard ensemble, symphony orchestra and band. I marched in the South Lakes High School drum line for four years and played snare for two. I am proficient in the warmups, techniques, music reading and writing, am open to teaching methods and the discipline of the drum line standard. I also have previous experience with teaching in the South Lakes High School percussion and drum line for two summers after graduation of high school. I am proficient in all main percussion instruments, including the snare drum (orchestral and rudimental/drum corps), the mallet keyboard, the timpani, and the drum set as well as auxiliary instruments, such as the tambourine, the triangle, the shakers, the hand drums, the djembe, and many more. Qualities As a musician, I am able to read, write and perform music, have great patience for working with others as well as always eager to learn something new. I believe that I am a polite, positive, encouraging, friendly, independent, and responsible individual and am always open for new experiences. With the snare drum, I can teach orchestral and rudimental/drum corps styles of snare drum. I focus on 40 rudiments, repertoire, technique (matched or traditional grips), musicality, expression, and quality of sound. I can also teach instrument tuning, care and maintenance. For the mallet keyboard percussion, I am proficient at marimba, xylophone, vibraphone, glockenspiel, balophone, and gyil. I also focus on technique, accuracy, musical expression, quality of sound, four-mallet (Stevens/traditional crossed/Burton crossed) and two-mallet technique and grip. On the timpani, I have the ability to teach timpani technique (French/German), musicality, tone quality, tuning accuracy and methods, and repertoire. With the drum set, I am a versatile player on the drum set. I can teach multiple Latin styles, hip-hop/rap, jazz, rock and funk. I focus on limb independence, musical expression, style understanding, ability to play and adjust with other musicians, tone quality, polyrhythms, rudimentary use on the drum set, versatility and popular repertoire for the drum set. Importance of Music I believe that music is a primary necessity in everyone's everyday lives and by studying music through instruments, we learn not only about these instruments but also about ourselves and how our musical personas play a roll in each individual's life. Percussion is as primal as an instrument gets. It dates to prehistoric times with ancient drums and the basic ability to keep a pulse. It is an instinct felt in all our lives through our heartbeat, yet it is a special craft that takes all life to perfection and creates unbelievable moments of joy and passion through music.
