Introduction: At It's Your Time Fitness, clients are provided with a unique experience by participating in mother and child workouts. Mommy and Me Fitness is meant to foster healthy relationship among mother's and children while completing an amazing workout. The format to our course is simple we start off with a warm-up, that’s followed by a workout, and then we end with a cool-down. Each session is different but during each workout you’ll perform five exercises in the following routine: Perform an exercise for sixty seconds followed by a quick 20-second break. Between each set we’ll have one-minute to grab some water, encourage another mom, give your kid a kiss, or just focus on conquering your next set. Each session incorporates five exercises that include body weight–based, calisthenics, and agility/obstacle-course. We’ll complete each set five times before we start our cool down. I find that the high repetition is great for the kids and it keeps them engaged while at the same time encourages the adults to push thru. We offer a "Bootcamp" class not because it's dangerously intense, but it involves a commitment to try your best while performing the exercises. Because we have breaks built-in to the routine, we encourage each participant to remain active during the sixty-seconds of work. Each mom is encourage to go at her own pace. Modifications exercise are always provided to meet the needs of every fitness level. We have a less intense workout called Stroller Zone. Like everything we do at IYTF, Stroller Zone is a fitness program designed for moms with children. These 60-minute sessions incorporate power walking, strength and toning activities to get your heart rate pumping. So grab your stroller and meet us for an awesome workout!

My two little ones and I are taking a Mommy and Me Boot camp class with Valerie at the Community Center in Laurel. From day one, she welcomed us all (even a wailing baby!) and showed me ways to incorporate both my two year old and five month old into my workout so that it was actually doable and fun. Each workout has been different and tailored to the needs of the group. (She checks in with us frequently and makes modifications if a task is too easy, too hard, or a child in the group needs mommy!). I appreciate Valerie's friendly encouragement- I feel supported and actually enjoy our sessions. (How often can you say that about a workout?!) I only wish more people knew about her classes!
