I first met Stacy G. ten years ago when I began seeing her to get in better shape before my wedding. Since then, Stacy has helped me take of almost 100 lbs after gaining way to much weight during my first pregnancy. She has also developed multiple nutrition plans to help me improve my health, lower my blood pressure, and support my under-active thyroid. Thanks to Stacy, I am my best version of myself - both inside and out. I attribute my personal and professional success to her guidance. Simply stated, Stacy Garonzik is one of the most knowledgeable nutritionists and trainers in the Harrisburg area. She runs her business with integrity and professionalism - with the health and fitness of her clients as her top priority. I would highly recommend her nutritional counseling, training, and wellness coaching to anyone who is serious about making a change!

I Was Very Over weight and uncomfortable with my body. My attitude was negative and i was never happy. Until third year of highschool i decided to change my life around by losing weight. However, during the weightloss i didnt do it properly. I became very unhealthy and got sick, even though i dropped a tremendous amount of weight. I met stacy April 2016 and she changed my life around, she was able to show me that food is a necessity for your body to function properly especially how important it is to build muscle and burn fat. She not only became my nutritionist and trainer but she changed my overal mood about how i feel emotionally and physically. Thank you So much for all that youve done and i would definitely recommed you to anyone seeking a fitness coach!

I have done two of Amy's self guided cleanses. She is a brilliant nutritionist. All of her recipes are tested, effective and flavorful. Amy thoughtfully and comprehensively answered my multiple questions and helped me get on track. I have now made healthy eating a lifestyle because of Amy and I feel better than I have in years.

I'm my dear h for a nutritionist Nicole reached out to me and set up a time to talk! The interview lasted about an hour but she makes sure that she answers all questions and concerns. Nicole was not rushed and totally forcues on me and my needs! Following the interview Nicole sent me over her plans and what she has to offer. This is as far as I gotten with the process of finding a nutritionist and I can tell you I can trust that after my search that Nicole has my best interns in mind and that is most definitely one of the main things I looking for.

Michele helped my daughter immensely to with her expertise as a nutritionist. She has guided her as to foods to eat to help prevent injuries and strengthen her bones, as well as helped her with other aspects of her life as a college track athlete. Michele is an excellent listener and has always been available to me, as well as my daughter, whenever I had questions. She truly cares, and follows through on her suggestions. My daughters doctors hold her in high esteem. I would highly recommend Michele.

I had been very healthy and eating a healthy diet for over 30 years. Prior to that I was diagnosed with lupus in my early 20's and treated successfully. Only pregnancy seemed to bring on a flare-up. So after giving birth to my son in 1984 I was very healthy. I am not sure what happened and neither does any doctor I saw but I had numerous and different "gut issues, I lost 25-30- lbs. I did not like or want food (which was not me) and I was so low on energy and I was always very active and high energy. So when my daughter kept suggesting I see a dietician/nutritionist I finally agreed never thinking I would need one since I had always been a healthy eater! Dana was the one person that helped me on a path to where I am today. I saw MANY doctors and was put on many medications which I would rather be able to help myself in natural ways! Eventually I was diagnosed with collagenous colitis which was right before I saw Dana and once that was cleared up and I followed Dana's path for me (which was a slower one , but I realized the only way to get well again) I did continue to improve and I have gained half the weigh back which I am good with. I still have not put all the things back in my diet that I had to eliminate yet, but I am slowly doing it. Dana looked at me the whole person and figured out what was my path. I am very grateful for her guidance and expertise!

For a non-nutritionist, I feel that I have a solid foundation in my knowledge of nutritional information, and even with that, Melanie is an essential professional to have on my team in my pursuit of healthy living. In a world where there is an abundant and overwhelming amount of information on nutrition, diets, etc., Melanie confidently aids me in sorting through the confusion with ease. She knows what is important and what is not important. She knows what to try and what not to try. Furthermore, Melanie takes the time to listen to what is important to me and helps me with navigating those important areas. She also takes the time to answer my questions. After the appointment is complete, she sends me an organized, well-written, easy-to-follow document with her recommendations and key things to remember from our appointment. I would definitely recommend Jake as a personal trainer and nutritionist. He didn't just view me as another client but worked to get to know me as a person. He was able to help me set attainable and realistic goals for my busy lifestyle. Jake was flexible with his schedule to ensure that I stayed motivated and reached my goals. Working out with him was always a fun adventure and never boring. He certainly challenged me in a good way. If you're looking for someone to motivate you, train you, and make life style changes I would strongly recommend Jake!

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does a nutritionist cost?

A nutritionist provides expertise and guidance to help clients with all diet-related health matters, including losing weight, gaining muscle, improving their sports performance, and managing diabetes or high cholesterol. Nutritionists can help people learn to follow special diets in a healthy way, such as becoming vegetarian or vegan or developing a low-sodium or gluten-free eating plan. The average national cost of a nutritionist is $60 to $100. Nutritionists often require an initial consultation with a new client, during which they’ll take a medical history, assess the client’s nutritional needs, and determine the best course of action; this first meeting usually averages $100-$120 for a 45-minute to 90-minute consultation. Subsequent nutritional counseling sessions generally cost less, ranging from an average of $45 for a half-hour session to $60-$90 for a one-hour session. Like many professional service providers, nutritionists may offer discounts through package pricing. For instance, a one-month package with two sessions and email support costs an average of $190; a three-month package with three sessions and email support costs an average of $360; and a six-month package with six sessions and email support costs an average of $540.

Are nutritionists covered by health insurance?

Nutrition counseling can be a critical component of good health care, especially for people recently diagnosed with diabetes or high cholesterol who need to adhere to a specific diet. People also meet with nutritionists for help developing a healthy vegetarian or vegan diet, developing an eating plan to lose weight or gain muscle, or improving their sports performance by changing their diet. Nutritionists may be covered by health insurance depending on your reason for meeting with them. Nutrition counseling is more likely to be covered if it is part of a doctor-prescribed treatment for a particular medical condition, such as diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure or coronary heart disease. For example, Medicare covers medical nutrition therapy services only for people diagnosed with diabetes or kidney disease, as long as they get a referral from their doctor. Also, insurance providers more often cover nutrition visits if the patient has been referred to a registered dietitian within the carrier’s network of providers. Insurance plans vary greatly, so research your benefits before visiting a nutritionist.
