Sam Chandler

Introduction: I am a professional gigging piano player in the Portland ME area. Beyond playing jazz gigs and weddings, I am also a keyboard player in an up and coming rock and roll band called Theodore Treehouse. My strengths for teaching are in improvisation and theory. I will teach many angles of approach to improve including the jazz tradition and modern classical. I will primarily focus on the interests of the student and helping the student find their musical voice through technical and theoretical training on their instrument. I can teach beginner classical piano, beginner to advanced jazz piano or general theory and improvisation. If you wish to open up the level of communication between what you hear in your head and what you play on your instrument, then I will have many tools and skills for you to learn and practice. I would prefer to negotiate the price to find one which works for both the student and myself.
