I would recommend Doroga Media to anyone in the NH and ME area looking for an amazing videographer. Right from the beginning, Katya was very easy to work with. She responded promptly and answered any questions that I had. She came to the venue early (Caswell Farm in Gray, ME) and took shots of the grounds. She came into the farmhouse right as we had some drama going on, but she didn't miss a beat. She had us do a few things for the video, but most of the time you wouldn't even know she was there! Only a month and a half after the wedding I got my videos from Katya and Doroga Media. There was a two and a half minute highlight video and a full length video that ran an hour and twenty minutes. I absolutely LOVE both of the videos. The highlight video is set to one of the first songs we danced to and really captures the essence of the day. She did such an awesome job with the short video. Then the full length video had EVERYTHING ! It started with shots of the venue, getting ready, our first look to the entire ceremony, all of the first dances, speeches and so much more. We are SO happy with the videos. Katya made truly amazing videos that will help us to remember both the small details, and the big moments from our magical day.

You won't find a better photographer/videographer in comparison to Peter's work ethic, professionalism, and quality. Peter commands whatever stage he is preset on, but he also observes and captures what is real. He has a great eye for composition, posing, and emotional movement. All of that packaged in a bubbly, witty personality. You'll have fun and won't realize you've just been carried with ease through a long, emotional day because he's got so much experience; he makes it easy and that's hard to find.

We hired Pixsmotion as our videographer for our wedding day and we could not be happier that we did. Pete did a wonderful job capturing the day (despite the rainy drizzle!). We cannot thank him enough for his work. We have already watched the edited videos several times and have received so many compliments from family and friends. Pete was professional, responsive and so easy to work with. He was actually probably one of our favorite vendors! We feel so lucky to have stumbled upon Pixsmotion. We would recommend Pixsmotion in a heartbeat to any bride and groom looking for an affordable videographer who will not disappoint!

Johnny was a great help to our production. We are based in South Florida, and needed to hire a videographer in Maine. He represented our company well, and returned top quality footage - audio and video were great. I definitely recommend Johnny for any video project.

I have contracted editing, production, and animation services for a few videos produced by my video production company, Drum. We, as well as our clients, have been extremely pleased by her work each time we have worked with her. She has a great capacity of understanding the story that is being told and editing to the feel/style of the piece. The footage when contracted as a videographer is high quality. Working with the director and effectively implementing their vision and critiques is something that we very much appreciated. Projects always meet their deadline and communication is responsive. We are excited to continue working with her in the future and we highly recommend her for your next project.

We are SO happy that we met Bill! Our wedding memories would not be the same without him. Not only is he a master of his craft, but he's also personable, and professional. My husband and I had a few ideas for our wedding video. Bill was easy to work with to make those ideas come to life. Not only that, but his creativity helped bring about new ideas that we had never thought of! If you are looking for a videographer for your event (wedding or anything else) my husband (and our family) can assure you that you have found him!!

The most amazing thing about Sam’s work is that when it all comes together you wonder how he got all the shots that he did. He is so good at getting footage without you even noticing that he’s there. His work is incredible and will always allow us to look back at our wedding day and reminisce. If you’re looking for a videographer for any event, I 10/10 recommend Sam!! You won’t be disappointed.

Joe Genender is a flexible, energetic, miracle worker. We used his expertise to help us launch a very ambitious social venture: The SmartGirls Way 100x100 Project. Filming 100 women for 100 days of stories required Joe to do a great deal of on the spot editing and he was able to work with content shot by others and pull it all together. Weather he is in the studio guiding an edit, on location pulling together network quality broadcast coverage, or giving up his valuable time and expertise to guide a client through a new experience, Joe really is At Your Service.

I have worked with Richard on several video production projects and he is always a pleasure to work with. As for production work he brings years of experience to the set. When we shoot video for Richard's productions I always know that he is going to do something great with the final edit of the video. He has a great eye for finding the story in a mountain of footage and turning it into a concise video that tells the story and tells it well. Mark Hensley MH2Photo and Video

My experience with Ihila films was wonderful. Tom was very professional on the wedding day, he was able to communicate what he needed to get the footage and helped everything go perfectly. I got a highlight video and longer wedding video exactly as I asked. He even edited the video to add more of something that I asked for. I had both videos within two weeks. I would definitely recommend them for a videographer.

    About

For your special day, let us capture memories that you will be enjoying in the coming years. As a videographer, you are the one who's responsible in capturing the special moments that seems to pass so quickly. Because of that, we guarantee that these special moments will be captured and archived in a thoughtful and creative wedding movie on a DVD for you to enjoy. A lot of our couples have commented that they were so busy during their wedding, and the movie showed them what they missed. We will film and produce with music a creative and professional memory of your special day on a DVD. You can have us for 6 to 8 hours during the day itself to film pre-wedding activities, ceremony and of course, the reception. Your video will be containing retrospective (childhood to dating) and honeymoon photos (you will provide these) of the couple and wedding party highlights. All of these will be delivered to you on 3 DVDs.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a videographer and what do they do?

A videographer professionally films weddings and other events and edits the footage to create film keepsakes or marketing materials for their clients. Wedding videographers record all the key elements of your wedding day, ceremony and reception, and then edit the hours of film during post-production to make a wedding video, social media highlight reels, and any other film features you choose. Wedding videography captures, in live action, your vows, the cake-cutting, the first dance, reception toasts, the decor, the guests and all the details of your day. Many wedding videographers also interview guests (based on an interview list provided by the couple) and incorporate the recorded responses into the wedding video. Event videography typically costs less than wedding videography, as events are shorter with less detail. The national average cost for event videography is $500-$760, while the national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. A videographer usually does not need to be licensed, but it is important to confirm they have insurance and good standing in the business community, as well as good client reviews. A great majority of the work happens during post-production. The pros watch and blend together the hours of footage they took (sometimes from multiple cameras) to capture the story of your wedding day or event.

How do you choose a wedding videographer?

A wedding videographer will create a lifetime memory for you from edited video footage of your wedding day, ceremony and reception. Choosing a wedding videographer starts with looking online at portfolios of their past work. There’s no need to talk to anyone unless you love what you see. Next, make sure they have good reviews and past client experience; don’t be shy about asking for references if there aren’t any posted online. When you find someone who has a style you love, ask if they are available on your wedding day. If so, it’s time to talk pricing. Be clear about your maximum budget, and ask what kind of packages they offer. Pricing will depend on the number of crew needed for filming, the hours they are required to be onsite, post-production editing, and the length of the final product. Talk with several wedding videographers to get a feel for what prices are like in your region. Nationally, the average cost for wedding videography ranges between $990 and $1,260 per event. Once you agree on a product and have a plan, get everything in a written and signed contract. Clearly state the details of what is expected for your wedding day and from the final product. Be prepared to pay a deposit to reserve their services for the day, then pay the remainder upon receiving the video.

What should you ask your wedding videographer before hiring?

Finding the perfect wedding videographer doesn’t have to be stressful. Asking a few key questions upfront will help you find the right fit for your big day. Before talking with wedding videographers, research their work online. Look at their websites, business profiles and social media, and see what their finished wedding videos look like. If the style fits what you’re envisioning, it’s time to reach out. During initial contact, make sure you get along with the person. This is important since they’ll be interacting with you and your guests.

Your first question should be about their availability; there’s no point in going further if they’re booked on your wedding day. Ask to see references if they’re not readily available online. Next, it’s time to talk about money. Ask how they determine rates or what kind of packages they offer. When you settle on a rate and the services you want, make sure to have a written contract that outlines everything, including cost, length of time they film, what post-production will include, and when you can expect to receive the edited project.

How much is videography for a wedding?

Wedding videography is one thing many couples regret not paying for. It may seem like just another expense during wedding planning, but it’s really special to have a moving memory of your big day. The national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. Pricing can vary depending on wedding length, special film features, the amount of editing required, and how many videographers are needed to cover the event. Many videographers offer packages that provide different levels of service. A very simple wedding documentary could be $600 or more, while a full-scale cinematic experience involving multiple videographers could be $2,500 or more. Here’s an example of average package pricing:

    • Package 1: $1,400
      • Footage during and after the ceremony, including highlights requested by the couple.
      • Two cameras with audio equipment.
      • DVD including a 3- or 4-minute edit to a song of the couple’s choice and a 45- to 50-minute raw edit covering the entire event.
      • Recordings of guests’ good wishes to the couple.
    • Package 2: $1,800
      • Includes everything from Package 1, plus an additional videographer (2 total) and aerial videography.

When do you pay your wedding videographer and wedding photographer?

Most wedding videographers and photographers require a set deposit when you hire them. Wedding season is a busy time and a deposit secures that vendor’s services for your wedding date. It also protects the vendor if the couple changes their mind at the last minute, and they can’t find a new booking and lose work for the day. The deposit may be anywhere from 20 percent to  50 percent of the agreed-upon total price. Always get a written confirmation that your deposit has been received.

The remainder of the wedding videography and photography bill may be due in the week before to your wedding or on the day of the wedding. Other vendors may require a second payment immediately before the wedding and a third and final payment after the wedding video or photos are delivered. Each vendor has their own policies, so before hiring be sure to read, understand and agree to payment protocols. There is no requirement for tipping wedding videographers or photographers, but if you do want to tip them, the end of the reception is the appropriate time.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
