I like the atmosphere at Harris Conservatory; it's casual, but professional. As an adult student, I pass teens and children and parents when going to/ coming from lessons. My instructor is a skilled musician. And I live in Plymouth, so it's all walking distance. Definitely a place you should check out for lessons!
We gave my Dad Jazz guitar lessons for Christmas. He is an experienced amateur guitar player who is 51 yr old and wants to take his playing to the next level. He is an engineer that needs to feed his creative side. He said it was the best gift ever! Thanks for all of your help!
My son had never had drum lessons before so he was pretty bad at first. We can definitely tell the difference over the past 2 months when he is down stairs practicing. Scott is very patient and my son really enjoys his lessons.
Charlie has a wonderful laid-back personality. My son likes Charlie and never dreaded going to lessons. Also, Charlie is just really skilled on the guitar! I have no hesitation in recommending Charlie to anyone needing a great guitar teacher.
Mark is teaching my son to play guitar. He is patient with him and very open and flexible when scheduling issues arise. I would recommend him to anyone who asked.
I'm glad I chose Tyler Aukerman for my guitar teacher. He is a clear teacher, very knowledgeable about guitar and music theory, attentive to his students needs, while also organized and timely. I had another teacher in the past but he had no professional training and as a result was a very poor teacher. I've never had this issue with Tyler. I'd recommend him to anyone parent looking for a teacher for their kid or adult looking to take lessons.
Keith is a very patient & wonderful teacher. He works at your pace to ensure that you are progressing and understand the basics. I have greatly benefited from his lessons and will continue to do so.
I am a young guitarist in two bands, and I love leaving people to play instruments of guitar and bass. It is best to bring your own guitar.
Because my teaching program I have developed will train you at a faster rate than any other program out there :)
If your reading this chances are you are interested in learning to play guitar, which is fantastic! But beware, choosing the wrong teacher to study with will be detrimental to your progress as a musician. Many instructors tend to use a "responsive" teaching method, which will eventually bring you to a dead end in your progress. We find that using a "proactive" method pushes our students (which could be you!) to excel at a rapid pace. In order to achieve this we first find out what the student hopes to achieve as a guitar/bass player, and then create a structured lesson plan to help get them there. The goal here is to make you the best guitarist you can be, and to make sure you have a great time doing it!
We are taking a modern approach on teaching guitar to the future musicians of our area. We take a different approach by implementing fundamental skills and techniques into the music that you want to learn.
Firstly, I am incredibly good at sight reading - it is a stereotype that guitarist are poor readers of music! I am also deeply interested and knowledgeable in many kinds of music. I like exploring the connections between genres - like jazz, rock, and classical - in my playing and in my compositions. I offer that openness to all my students, and often burn CDs for them to expose them to new kinds of music.
I have been teaching for more than 20 years. In the classroom and privately. I have students from 7 to 70 and I understand how to bring out what they do best while also pushing them in new directions with minimal frustration.
I have a certificate of completion in multiple musical fields centered around guitar. I have been playing for 10 years and currently teach at another school here in Wayne. I am taking students of all ages and experience levels.
I offer guitar lessons and basic maintenance (cleaning/polishing, restringing, and minor adjustments) at a reasonable price, on a flexible schedule. I work with beginner to intermediate students only, in their homes or mine!
If you're willing to work, I'm willing to work with you. Learning any instrument takes discipline and time. Don't let either of those things hold you back from having fun as well as learning and excelling at the instrument you love! I'll work with you to become well-versed in practical music theory, guitar technique, and creative writing/music composition. I'm the director of worship arts at Bethel Church in Jackson, MI, and I have the privilege of serving as worship leader. My experience ranges from private lessons, self-education, formal education, and touring applications. I love playing guitar, and I want you to as well.
Beginners and novices are welcome. I will teach you basics and techniques and eventually how to even write your very own songs.
I am a Toledo bass guitar player with 20 years of experience in performing, recording and teaching guitar. My lessons are fun and students' individual personalities create the basis for the material that is implemented in lessons. The skill levels that I teach include beginner, intermediate and advanced.
