Mike was very helpful and willing to jump in and provide some last minute SAT Test prep and tutoring for my daughter's second time taking the test. Mike helped her with her weak points (Math) as well as general test taking strategies. Her confidence was higher going into the second test after Mike's help. He was thorough and knowledgeable.
Ted is very knowledgeable with Algebra2 and Trig. My Daughter got a B+ on her last Exam which is great since she hasn't done well on any of her test in the past. My daughter is more confident now in her studies now and Ted works well together.
My daughter Laura was struggling with algebra and geometry for a test. The tutor was fantastic. Much better value than other companies
Dianne Griswold was very friendly and accommodating. We are very happy with her work. I will highly recommend her to any one who need english tutoring, essay writing or reviewing.
We've had just 2 tutoring sessions for pre-calc so far, but my son just took a test at school and said he finally KNEW the material, including bonus questions. Bennett has been easy to work with and has been able to explain and teach the subject matter so that my son gets it. We look forward to continuing to work with him.
I love reviewing my math with Mrs. Raj. I always go the day before I have a test and we go over everything I need to know. She makes you do problems until she knows that you understand. I always feel very prepared when for my next test when I walk out of her house. I would really recommend her to people because I have had other math tutors before and they just do not compare to Mrs. Raj.
I was studying for the GMAT, and since it had been over 20 years since my bachelors degree, I found myself struggling with the Quantitative Analysis section. A friend, who knew Lou Vierling, suggested that I give him a call and see if he could help. Lou walked me through the algebra and geometry questions on the sample tests. He has an amazing understanding of the material and a way to present it so that it is understandable. I would recommend Lou to anyone struggling with math and wish I would have had him as a tutor when I was in high school!
As an accomplished tutor in math and English, Leas first goal is to build a trusting relationship with her students and their parents. Trust dissolves a students fear of making a mistake, builds the confidence essential to learning and sets the foundation for subject matter advancement. Students can then tackle todays rigor of assignments, grades and testing on all levels. Her approach and ability as a tutor are a refreshing change from todays often-used automated approach based solely on grade or testing outcomes. If our grandchild were not out of state, Lea would be our first choice to support his learning and growth.
My 15 year old son is being tutored for Algebra 2. He went very unwillingly to the first session. He is eager for the next. Mr. Abron engaged him and gave him insight into why things were not working out for him. INSTANT CONFIDENCE! It also helped that he was nice, patient, smiling, and extremely knowledgeable about the content. He provided resources that the school was not providing and gave us a game plan that will carry him through the school week. Besides all of that, he strikes me as a wonderful, caring person to whom my son will make a stronger connection. Nurturing and fatherly conversation. Very, very satisfied!
Judy has sincerely helped me to retake the ACT for access to a $10,000 scholarship to my top choice college. She gave me incredibly helpful tips, tricks, and strategies that prepared me really well to take the test. I am not very good with Math, and she helped me more than my math teachers did in a month preparing for the ACT retake. She did a really good job helping me out over the phone and through FaceTime. I've even gotten better test scores at school applying what I learned from Judy into school tests for my classes. Big thanks to Judy for all of her help!
I wanted to write in support of Brad Kelly in teaching my son the skills needed to improve his scores on the SAT. My son has a 95+ average in high school, taking predominantly honors and AP courses. His knowledge base and understanding of material for tests is impressive. However, the SAT is not about what you know, but about applying test taking skills that are not routinely used in everyday high school classes or even AP/IB exams. Despite his knowledge base and baseline test taking skills, with a simple 6 week course and his own efforts, he was only able to achieve a 1330 on his first SAT attempt. We then approached a test prep provider where we live, and were connected with Brad Kelly. Brad spent five 2 hour sessions with my son developing the skills necessary and the confidence in those skills for the June 2017 administration of the SAT. On this test his scores increase to a 1470, 780 in Math and 690 in Verbal. I would highly recommend Brad to assist your student in developing the necessary test taking skills to improve their performance on the SAT or ACT, a major factor in entry into the academic school of their choice.
I enjoy the session I had with her and I can follow her and understand what she is teaching. I know that tutoring with tutormenurse I will pass the teas test.
Mrs. Rogers was my math teacher in middle school and I can honestly say she was one of the best teachers I have ever had. She prepared me for high school and college math. Because of that preparation, I was able to test into the honors track for math in high school and tested out of my math requirements for college. She is a patient and encouraging teacher. I would strongly recommend her as a tutor.
We hired David to tutor our son Sam shortly after he began the IB program at International Academy in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Sam was really struggling and was barely getting D-'s on his tests. David was quickly able to identify the various (many!!) issues Sam was having. With patience, empathy, positive support and amazing teaching skills David's impact was obvious and immediate. David provided Sam with many tools to cope with his issues, as well as math skills to compliment what he was learning at IA. Sam's marks steadily improved along with his confidence. David continued to work with Sam for all four of his high school years, and when Sam graduated from IA (one of the top high schools in the US and in the very challenging IB program) he had a B+ in math. Happy to report that Sam will soon graduate from the University of Edinburgh (International Relations and Law) and this would not have been possible without David Brazle. Andrea Derby and Steve Carlisle
This is where you want to go for ACT test preparation.
I took a summer Calculus class and was struggling to pass. After I hired Taylor, my grades went up tremendously. I felt like I was always well reviewed for the tests because I actually understood the material.
At Schollegiate, we are confident that theres a school for everyone and we work to help students find that school. We help them make sense of their aspirations, dreams, and academic and extracurricular interests, and we help them find the schools that make for good matches. And when the match or in most cases, matches has been made, we make sure students craft applications that speak to their fit on that specific campus; that illustrate why they merit strong consideration.
We help parents and students understand and master the new SAT, focusing on what's different and the way to practice for the test based on how much time the student has to prepare. Each student takes a complete practice test from which is created a PPA (personal plan of action). We provide tips for getting teachers involved and referrals for one-on-one tutoring, use games to make skill mastery fun and challenging and place students in online study groups to motivate and encourage each learner. At the end of the session, a post test is given, along with an updated study plan for continued review of the weak skills up until the test date. Options for learning include the following: * Online * In a Classroom Setting * At Your Home * A combination of two or more of the above, for maximum SAT score gains
I believe that all students have an innate greatness, and through constant encouragement and positive reinforcement, they can achieve their goals. I have extensive knowledge of the Michigan Department of Education Grade Level Competency Expectations (GLCES), as well as a host of techniques and exercises to explain them. I began tutoring in 10th grade with the Wayne State Math Corps. Currently, I am a SES lead tutor with McCully's. I traditionally provide bi-weekly progress reports with parental inclusion. In essence, progress reports are made of a two-column chart, on one side are the goals and on the other side are the achievements. There is also a section for ways parents/teachers can support learning. I also specialize in "making work relevant"; many students are discouraged by work that they feel they won't use in "real-life." I provide real-world examples for concepts.
Our school is different from all the other tutoring schools because it creates Individual Learning Plans for each student. Students do not have to waste time traveling. All of the materials are uploaded into the virtual classroom. Students do not need books or notebooks. They have a dashboard for their assignments. Students receive and ID and password, which they can use to log into their accounts and to the assignments. Once the students have enrolled into one of our programs they receive a troubleshooting lesson. Our IT team is always prepared to assist with all the questions and challenges. Students can contact us anytime.
I provide multi-subject tutoring up to 8th grade, high school mathematics, SAT ACT prep, and Spanish language tutoring.
