FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing system looks a little complicated, but once you see it all laid out, it's actually pretty simple. For convenience sake, I'll attach the pricing document to your quote if you choose to look into hiring me as your teacher.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am always trying to learn more! We have a music library at our location that allows for students and teachers to check out material. This includes song, technique, and theory books of all kinds. All teachers are encouraged and expected to continually improve their knowledge and skills. I was recently encouraged to take a look at two of our theory books and I'm working through them right now!
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Before hiring a teacher, set up a meeting to see if you (or your child) mesh with with the instructor. Instructors have various expectations for the lesson and it's important to understand what will or wont be required of you. Some teachers are more laid back, some require more practice, some have a more fun approach, and some are much more serious. Only you know what will work the best for you. As an instructor I focus on helping my students get exactly what they want out of their lessons. That may include switching up the method, practice, or general lesson structure, anything they need.
