Ruth is a godsend with my dog! She knows just how to handle my shy, 75-pound rescue dog to put him at ease and give him the exercise and sniff-time he needs while I am recovering from minor surgery. He comes back exhilarated from his walks with her! Super friendly and conscientious, Ruth is someone I would trust to take care of all my pet's needs if I ever went out of town. She is THAT caring and attentive and understands the way dogs work -- even mine, who gets separation anxiety and alpha tendencies. I am so grateful to have found Ruth who clearly has a big heart for dogs and people and really wants to help where it is needed!!! Thank you SO MUCH Ruth!!!!!

Had a great experience with Paws Around Motown. They took very good care of my dog at home while I was away for a long weekend! Would recommend them and plan on using them again. Thanks for the love you gave her!

Deb was the best dog-walker and dog-sitter we've ever had! We were so sad when she moved! She always went out of her way for our dog; stopping to check on him if he was sick, and was always available if we needed someone last minute! She was most definitely our dog's best friend. I would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone!

When my regular dog sitter had to have surgery and unable to work for a couple months she recommended Peggy. She was awesome and took great care of my girls. She added a personal touch of texting me a picture of them while I was at work. I will definitely use her in the future when needed.

My dog Skyler has a bit of a separation anxiety if I go anywhere with out him, so I dreaded leaving him for a long evening. Karen exceeded my expectations as a pet sitter. Within moments of being in my home, my dog Skyler had climbed happily into her lap and my dog is a good judge of character! Karen arrived promptly and asked all the appropriate questions concerning the care of my dog. When I checked in with her later that evening she cheerfully gave me a comforting discription of how my boy was behaving as they were out on a walk! She took the stress out of leaving him with a stranger. When I returned Skyler was so calm it was like I never left. I would use her services and recommend her to anyone.

I am a very clean and tidy person, and I carry that over into my jobs. I clean my customers' homes spotless, just like I keep my own. I vacuum, dust, clean windows and deep clean all rooms from top to bottom in my customers' homes. Unless I was asked only to do specific cleaning in specific rooms. I am flexible with the days and hours. My cleaning services are available, and I am also negotiable with my hourly wage. If you are in need of an efficient, trustworthy, friendly and reliable person to clean your house, contact me, and I guarantee that you will not be disappointed. I also love animals, and they love me. If you are in need of an individual to walk your dog for you, or if you need an animal sitter also, contact me, and you will not be disappointed. I have owned animals my whole life and would treat your baby or babies as I would treat my own with nothing but the best of care at all times. Contact me, and we can arrange and meet and greet with your animal or animals, and you will see for yourself how much I love animals and how much they love me. Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to hire a house sitter?

House-sitting can be a lifesaver when you’re leaving town for any length of time. Whether you work remotely, you’re taking a much-needed vacation, or you just want to road-trip for a few days, it’s wise to have a pro keep an eye on your house and pets while you’re gone. Your home is more likely to stay safe and you won’t have to wrangle the kitty into a kennel to travel with you. The national average pet-sitting price ranges between $20 and $30. Pet-sitting and house-sitting costs will vary based on where you live in the country and regional labor rates. Another factor in cost is how long you want the house-sitter to stay. Some people prefer to have the house-sitter stay the night at their house, perhaps to care for an elderly pet or simply to keep a watchful eye on the home at all times. Overnight stays will cost more, ranging anywhere from $50 to $100, depending on services provided. For day visits, house-sitting and pet-sitting prices will increase incrementally the longer the visit and the more service you want performed. For example, a quick 10-minute visit to feed and walk the pet and bring in the mail could be $12.50, a 25-minute visit could be $18, a 40-minute visit $25, and a 50-minute visit $32. How much should you pay for a pet sitter?

Pet sitting provides your precious pet with in-home care. A pet-sitter can make a brief visit during the day to provide snacks, playtime or affection, or stay at your house for one or more nights to tend to your pet. Prices for pet-sitting will vary based on length of the visit. Nationally, pet sitting prices range from $20 to $30, although prices run higher for your sitter to stay the night. Prices will also be affected by where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pet-sitting prices based on length of time and region:

      • 30-minute visit: $17 in a small Texas town.
      • 30-minute visit: $25 in Southern California.
        • 45-minute visit: $28.
        • 60-minute visit: $32.
      • Overnight stay (10 hours): $50 in Texas.
      • Overnight stay (10 hours): $85 in Southern California.
        • 12 hours: $100.
        • 24 hours: $200. This is a good option for a sick, elderly or brand-new pet that needs constant supervision.
