As I was leaving college and moving into my first apartment, design was something I wanted to invest in because I wasn’t going to be moving as much. After meeting Aaron during his time with known Realtor in DC Marlena Williams he was just starting his design career. I was meeting with Marlena because I was interested in real estate at the time and I believe Aaron was her admin assistant. Aaron went to Howard and I went to Morehouse so we bonded over HBCU. Aaron mentioned he was getting started with interior design and had plans for Davenport Abney and I thought it was great. When it was time to move and find furniture I called Aaron to see if he actually did what he said AND HE DID! So we did a virtual consultation and he found great pieces and consulted the entire design. His communication is great it felt I was with a very large design firm. He was very strict with his boundaries which I respected because he was upfront and put me through a process. I trusted him. At the end I have a great place and people don’t want to leave when they come. I believe if you’re interested in working with Aaron you have to be ready to trust him and comply his requests from you. You will have a home of your dreams.

The experience with Davenport Abney was wonderful from top to bottom. I really felt they understood me and my vision from the beginning and were very attentive while executing my project to perfection! I would be happy to work with them again when renovating in the future.

Working with Davenport Abney was a pleasant experience. Aaron and team listened to our wants/need and effortlessly guided us through the process. They’re professional, detailed oriented, and most of all great at executing an amazing vision! I highly recommend if you’re interested in elevating your space but have reservations regarding affordability. Masters of value engineering!

I worked with Aaron Abney to build my and my family’s dream basement. He was patient, responsive and provided many options to help me make the right decision. The process was painless and seamless, my favorite aspect being that there are lots of alternatives at a range of prices which makes it simple to purchase.
Additionally, having a visual of the room and a shopping list to order from made it super easy. I am looking forward to working on three more rooms with Aaron!
