After briefly explaining my issues over the phone, it only took Everett and his partner 5 mins to arrive at my place, and then another 30 mins to fix the clogged drain pipe. I would highly recommend Everett to anyone having plumbing issues.

Scott's team had a major Emergency Job that they were working on when he came to assess my basement drain plumbing issues. I liked the fact that he asked me questions about what had transpired regarding the plumbing before tearing away at my basement floor with a sledge hammer. After some brief significant dialogue, he decided to send a snake into my main exiting drain to see if he could get slow draining issued resolved. The first procedure revealed blockage about 35-50 feet away from my home, which he extracted and set aside (at my request). I couldn't believe what his commercial machine was pulling out of my drain. He snaked the drain two additional time until the claw came back clean. Scott explained everything he was doing "Play-by-Play", resolved my issue at minimal cost, and cleaned the working area, and discarded all debris. I would highly recommend The Pipe Sergeon for your Master Plumbing Needs...

The problem: connection from laundry to main drain rusted through and broke. Had a conversation with Mr. Simons within 20 minutes of original thumbtack search on a Sunday evening. Gave straightforward assessment of situation and approximate estimate and we agreed on a time and date. He arrived punctually. Gave me option of quick vs. through job and price difference. i agreed to thorough. He was very efficient and proficient in his work. Less than three hours after he arrived, my main drain feed was replaced, the basement concrete redone and I could once again do laundry. Having observed most of the work, I expect to have no drain problems within my lifetime. Also, it was he who advised that this repair might be covered by my homeowners insurance, so we both took before, during and after photos to provide the insurance adjuster.

Joe is great. He came out on a Saturday night to work on a clogged kitchen drain, which a different plumber had worked on and gave up. Joe worked for about an hour and got it open. I was impressed with his professionalism. He came on time, dressed clean, was polite and very knowledgable. In addition, he cleaned up his work area when he was done. Most repairmen leave a mess, but not Joe. I highly recommend Joe and will definitely use him again.

Mr. Stokes is an overworker. He went beyond my normal expectations of just doing a job to getting it done in half the time I expected and at an affordable price. Repairing a lopsided fence in my backyard was no easy task, but he was able to coe up with a solution that was perfect and saved me from having to buy new materials. In addition, having to remove a large juniper bush in the front of my house proved to be a huge undertaking because it had such large roots and was at the end of it's life cycle. He made quick work of it and cleaned up and filled in the hole. Excellent work on both jobs. Glad to have someone I can trust and count on to do a good job at a fair price! Highly recommend him!

We had a small plumbing leak that Jason had fixed in less then 20 minutes and while he was there he also fixed a small gas leak on the supply line to our furnace. I'm in my 60's and have dealt with the trades for over 40 years during my career and I just added Jason and Razor Rooter to the top of my list! Great service and great quality work. Exceptional conversationalist, very knowledgeable and a good family man. I'd give him more stars if you had them!

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What are plumbers and what do they do?

Plumbers are skilled professionals who are trained to install and maintain pipes and systems for drinking water, sewage and drainage. They usually have trained through four- to five-year training programs, which include apprenticeships, via trade schools and community colleges. Plumbers’ areas of expertise typically go beyond pipes to include mathematics, blueprint reading, plumbing codes and water distribution. They handle plumbing emergencies, such as broken pipes or clogged drains, and install and maintain everything from a new piping system to a replacement faucet. Plumbers also know how to install bathtubs and showers, toilets, water heaters and dishwashers. Plumbers may work on residential or commercial sites, sometimes designing and laying out a pipe system during construction.

How do you find a good plumber?

Whether you need a plumber to perform drain repair, install a new fixture, or replace rusty pipes, you need to make sure you hire someone reliable who will finish your job on time and within budget. Start by asking the plumbers on your short list these questions:

    • What is the total cost? Make sure your estimate includes materials and labor. Find out whether the plumber will be providing the materials and whether you’re being charged an hourly rate (which is variable) or a flat fee.
    • Is removal and cleanup included in the job? Some plumbers leave behind old parts, while others include the cleanup in the cost.
    • Is the work guaranteed? Find out whether the work (as well as the parts or fixtures) are guaranteed under a warranty.
