Hayley teaches cello, violin and viola in Burnsville and the Uptown area of Minneapolis.
Throughout her eight years of professional teaching experience, Hayley has taught string students of all ages and levels, taking care to structure lessons according to the goals and learning style of each student. She believes that with the right ingredients of patience, practice, encouragement (and fun!), anyone can learn to play an instrument, and play it well.
In particular, Hayley enjoys working with young beginners in particular with the aim of developing a solid foundation in technique, note-reading and tone production. In her teaching, she often uses the Suzuki repertoire in conjunction with scales, sight-reading development, etudes, popular tunes, and any other materials which might benefit the student’s path.
Hayley loves to see her students experience all the great benefits playing music. She encourages students of any level to participate in performance opportunities at a variety of fun venues around the Uptown area, either solo or in groups. Whether her students dream of being classical virtuosos or just want to explore the many benefits of string playing, Hayley strives to help her students foster a life-long love of all music has to offer.
I love the process and the challenges of learning with my students. I love to share the gift of music, and all it has to offer.
