My kids are currently receiving in home piano lessons from Tim every week and loving it. It is super convenient for me (no driving anywhere and WAITING) and also for the kids, since it doesn't really disrupt their after-school flow of homework and play. Tim is wonderfully patient and plenty of fun.

Fantastic! My husband and I are not musical, and were not raised in musical homes, so when our daughter started to take violin lessons there was a lot of apprehension, particularly with her young age. Dr. Lamb taught her violin and taught us how to help and be supportive. She has been a great influence, patient and kind, while still understanding how to push her forward. She is a clear communicator and sets both short term and long term goals in order to keep practice fresh and fun, while still allowing for the kids to reach their potential.

Our 7-year old daughter has been taking piano lessons with Alta from Bravura Music School for the past few months. Alta does a fantastic job working with her. Our daughter thinks Alta is pretty much the coolest person ever. Alta has made the lessons not only educational, but also very fun. It has been great to see our daughter develop not only her skills, but also a love for piano.

Mark helped our grandson with pre-algebra and was very nurturing and patient while teaching concepts. Nick really enjoyed his sessions with Mark and gained so much confidence. I believe the skills talked about carried thru in his other subjects as well. Mark is excellent!!

My 12-year old son took guitar lessons from Rachel last summer. She was recommended to me by a friend. He had already had about 3 years of guitar with another teacher. As a parent I liked: how she set the schedule up, the price, her willingness to be flexible with scheduling conflicts, and her balance of playfulness/teaching with lessons. My son liked: the bead system to reinforce practicing, learning chords vs. strumming method, having input into music choice, and comfort of the lesson location. I do not know Rachel well personally, but I was impressed with how organized she was. You can tell she loves music and she is good with children.

How much are cello lessons?

Cello lessons are a great way to anchor and guide your cello practice, regardless of your skill level. From top symphony performers to first-time music students in elementary school, cello lessons correct your flaws and help your strengths shine. The cost of cello lessons will vary, depending on the reputation and experience of your teacher, the length and frequency of your lessons, and where you live. Students who have regularly scheduled lessons and pay in advance often pay less per lesson than drop-in students who schedule lessons as needed. Here are some examples of average cello lesson costs:

  • 30-minute cello lesson: $30, when a minimum of 4 lessons per month are pre-paid.
    • Cost for drop-in lesson: $35.
  • 45-minute cello lesson: $35, when a minimum of 4 lessons per month are pre-paid.
    • Cost for drop-in lesson: $40-$45.
  • 60-minute cello lesson: $40, when a minimum of 4 lessons per month are pre-paid.
    • Cost for drop-in lesson: $50-$55.

How hard is it to learn to play the cello?

Taking cello lessons can be a rewarding experience for students young and old. The rich sound of the cello is well-loved in classical music and is found in all genres of contemporary music from modern folk to rock. As with any instrument, how hard it is to learn to play cello depends on the practice and dedication you put into it. It’s true that some people are naturally more adept at learning instruments than others, but with lessons and a daily commitment, you too can learn to play the cello.

Cello lessons can be a smart investment, especially for new players. Even professional cellists benefit greatly from ongoing training, but for those new to cello it’s especially important for forming a strong foundation for playing. From the proper posture to understanding finger positions, regular cello lessons give you a benchmark to measure your daily practice against. With a professional cello teacher guiding you, the sky’s the limit.
