FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing is typically a flat rate for square footage of house and includes 1 of each (water heater, furnace/boiler, garage-detached or attached, etc). Extra features will have a price increase or you can choose to have me not inspect them (some outbuildings, dilapidated garages etc.)
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to speak over the phone to start but I am also willing to email or text if it is more convenient. I need basic info about the property, as well as an email address to send the inspection agreement and the report to. I want you to join me for the inspection if you can. That way, I can point things out as we go, and answer any questions you may have. If you can't be there, it's ok. I am more than happy to set up a time to chat about the report after the fact, either in person or on the phone.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I took a national certification course through the American Home Inspectors Training Institute. I am also a member of InterNACHI which provided hundreds of hours of continuing education, with a minimum requirement of 24 per year. MN does not require inspectors to hold a license, which is why it is important to hire someone who makes it a priority to manage their own training and education.
