- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
The HPT team is continually furthering their education through researching and studying new information and also participating in seminars and classes.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Jason Ivesdal completed his B.S. in Corporate and Community Wellness and a Minor in Nutrition in 1997 and began personal training. Jasonâs training experience took him across the country before he eventually ended up in Eden Prairie, Minnesota in 1999, at Flagship Athletic Club. After becoming their first Master Level Trainer and the Director of Training at FAC, Jason decided that his long-term goals and passion to help people achieve optimal health through both training and nutrition would not be able to happen at FAC. In 2004 Jason left FAC and started Higher Power Training, Inc.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Melissa Miner â TV Show Host My weight consumed my life. There was not a day that passed that I didnât think about it. I have tried every diet program imaginable. I decided in January 2006, 5 months before I turned 40, that I needed to approach it differently â that is when I met Jason Ivesdal at Higher Power Training. Within months I had lost 25lbs and 11% bodyfat. I looked and felt like a completely different person. So many people commented how much younger I looked. I had recently been diagnosed with Scheuermann's Disease (curvature and small fractures of the spine) and was struggling with daily pain as well as the pain while training in the pool. Jason created a program that not only made me stronger physically and in the water, but took the pain away as well. Over time Jason created new programs to increase my stability, endurance, muscle mass and also my mental strength. Now, almost two years later, visibly stronger, leaner and pain free, I can say without reservation that Jason is a very large part of my success in swimming. Thanks to his dedication to help me reach my full potential, I finished my senior year as a record-setting state champion and a five time All-American. Jason is without a doubt the finest of trainers that will help any athlete exceed their goals!
