Teaching is my expertise and passion, and it's been the throughline of my career for nearly twenty years, three of them as a dedicated ESL instructor. What I care about most is precision. I've spent my career looking for the structure underneath things, first in the ground as an archaeologist working in the US, Ecuador, Panama, and France, now in language, and there is real satisfaction in watching someone go from translating word by word in their head to simply thinking in English. That shift is not incremental. It's a kind of arrival, and I've built my teaching around getting people there faster than they expect. I bring to that work a set of tools most instructors don't have: fluency in Spanish and English, professional proficiency in French, working knowledge of Slovak, and two decades of experience communicating complex material across language and cultural gaps with adult learners at every level, from complete beginners to advanced professionals preparing for exams like the IELTS.See more
