I hired Amara to dance at a private event in June of 2012. It was a celebration of a milestone birthday and my husband and I wanted something extraordinary to make the party memorable. Amara did not disappoint! She was very friendly and professional. We spoke on numerous occasions before the event and she was able to tailor her set (dance styles, music, costuming and use of props) to suit our taste. Amara was punctual and came prepared with her music in multiple formats and her own sound system. We hired her to perform a long set and to teach our guests a few belly dance moves. Her dancing was outstanding! When it came time for the lessons, there were very few who opted out. Those who danced with her remarked on how well she taught. Now, almost a year later, those who attended are still talking about the wonderful dancing and what a great time they had! We will definitely hire her again!

FAQs

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

You get what you pay for. Price is (and should be) a consideration, but it shouldn't be the only one. If one dancer is considerably cheaper than everyone else, that should be a red flag. Why are they cheaper? Are they less experienced, are their costumes unprofessional, have they actually studied dance? Look at videos, ask to see a website or current photos, ask what the dancer can offer you. A professional dancer should have a wide variety of professional costumes, should be proficient with various props (shamadan, zills, veil, Isis Wings, etc), should be able to present herself well, and should be able to tailor a show based on the needs/wants of each client.
