Mike was very personable. He washed the house and it looks great. I had actually wanted him to power wash the deck due to the hail damage, however because of the Deck over paint we used it was not going to improve much and he was honest about the results so we did not have him do it after all. I would definatly recommmend him.

Pablo just left my home after coming in and doing a super fantastic job. What a refreshingly great experience we had. My floating floors had come apart in several tricky places and I needed someone who was comfortable working with floors, baseboards, etc. He came in ahead of the scheduled time ready to go and did a really good work. My wife was so impressed that he wanted to know what else Pablo does and we will likely be using him to paint our whole main floor soon. Besides the quality of his work, he is very personable and his pricing is super competitive.

We had 450 sq ft of wood floor needing a complete refinish. Greg took his time and delivered a great quality job. He used plastic covers to contain the dust. He also had other ideas to improve our home. Highly recommend.

He was great at responding and understanding the concept of what was needed. If I graded the project I’d give it a B- . There were some cuts that exposed the wall and caulking / cuts weren’t seamless. He was pleasant to work with and nice guy.

We hired CertaPro of Anoka to paint some rooms of our house before we put it on the market. The team of 3 was here for 2 days and the entire time were very polite and professional. Upon completion of the job, Richard made sure to see if I had any concerns or noticed anything that needed extra touch-up or attention. He made sure everything was to my satisfaction. I would highly recommend and hire them again.

We finally sold our house in the country and were ready to move into our rental house. Our rental house had not been 'trashed' by our renters... but, it had not been cleaned for six years. . . so the dirt, dust, cobwebs and grime were T H I C K ! Kristina and her team from Spruce Up Cleaner tackled the project in a timely manner so the new paint and flooring could get in and enabled us to move into a beautiful CLEAN home on time! We couldn't have done it without you. Thank you! I highly recommend Spruce Up Cleaners!

We hired Ryan to do a restoration project after having water damage in our home. There were three levels that were affected. We needed removal of flooring and new flooring installed, as well as drywall work, carpet stretching, trim work and painting. Ryan did an exceptional job with all aspects of the work. He got the job done quickly and made sure daily that the worksite was clean and that we could still make use of the spaces in our home that were being worked on. His professional attitude and his quality work ensure we will use him for many other projects that we want to get done. Would recommend him without reservation to do work in any home.

David was very knowledgeable about my job for him and what I was asking of him. He was precise on the time required to do the job and the amount of paint needed to do the work. I was impressed with his help and some little things that were wrong and what he would do to make things right. He covered up items that was not to be painted. We are pleased with the finished product and how the job looks. Thank you Ken K.

Knocked it out in time and even came back a few weeks later after new windows were installed. Thank you Grandview Painting!

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to paint the interior of a house?

Interior house painting costs are calculated on a few key factors. Nationally, interior house painting projects range from $200 to $2,500. The wide price range indicates how much square footage, paint selection and labor can affect cost. One pro uses a laser to measure each room, subtracting the size of the doors and windows, and then bases the quote on the square footage of the actual surfaces to be painted. Painters may provide you with savings if you opt to paint your entire home rather than just having one room or an accent wall painted. For example, the average house painting cost for an 8x12 room with 8-foot ceilings is roughly $200, when contractor-grade paint is used. Painting ceilings, baseboards and frames can also affect cost. Pros may charge per linear foot to smooth and paint baseboards. In one area pros might charge 50 cents per linear foot to paint baseboards, while pros in another part of the country could charge $1.50 per linear foot for the same task. Painters may charge flat rates for painting door and window frames, with one charging $20-$25 and another $60 per door. Geography and regional costs to do business play a major role in the cost of interior painting. The same painter in a rural region has less to pay in taxes, transportation, insurance and overhead than they would in a major city like New York.

      How much do painters cost?

The national average cost for an interior painter ranges between $450 and $900. Interior painters can tackle everything from complete color makeovers in each of your rooms to touching up an accent wall to painting pieces of furniture. The square footage and complexity of the project, along with the materials needed, are the main factors that will affect cost. Other factors include whether you supply the paint yourself or want the painter to do so, whether you move the furniture and do the prep work or ask them to do it, and whether any repair work is needed on the walls. Painting the ceiling and the trim will also have an effect on cost. The type of paint you choose can also raise or lower your house painting cost. A gallon of paint may range from $20 to over $100, depending on quality and brand. Ask your painter if they charge per hour or per square foot, and how much you can save by doing prep work (moving furniture, etc.) yourself.

How much does a painter charge per room?

The cost to paint a room will vary based on the size of the room, the type of paint you select, any ceiling or trim work needed, and any repairs needed. If no repairs or other additional work is needed, painting a room with contractor-grade paint could range from $1 to $2 per square foot, including materials. Selecting a luxury paint (some cost more than $100 per gallon) will certainly increase your house painting costs. Here are some additional examples of average house painting costs, per room:

      • 12x12 room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $125
      • 12x12 room with an 8-foot ceiling: about $100
      • 14x16 master bedroom with a 9-foot ceiling: about $150
      • 14x16 master bedroom with an 8-foot ceiling: about $125
      • 16x16 living room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $175
      • 16x16 living room with a 20-foot ceiling: starting at $225
