Aaron did a fantastic job painting our ceiling. I got in contact with him on a Monday, he provided a quote a couple days later, then came out and got the job done that Friday. His price was reasonable and he made sure to explain everything he needed to do so I felt comfortable with the entire process. In the end, I couldn't be happier with how it turned out and would recommend MN Complete Property Solutions to anyone in need of quality, professional work.

He, sanded and stained my entryway door, removed my bathroom ceiling fixture seeing how I couldn't get down so I could clean it then he replaced it. He moved my living room furniture, assisted with taping off woodwork then he assisted with the painting. When everything was done he clean up after himself. He agreed to come back on Monday to paint my kitchen and dining room.

I had RedLion services show up to my house at 8 in the morning to paint my entry, Chris wasted no time upon arrival and placed drop clothes down over all of my wood floors in the entry and began. I have 12 foot ceilings and am not a painter myself so decided to hire out, this is the first time for me because my wife has always painted in the past but she passed away recently. Once he began I'd says he way done in three hours cleaned up and everything! To say I was impressed is a major understatement. He only charged me $150 and that includes paint plus he fixed a few major wall dents for me. My entry looks wonderful! Thank you

Greg intalled a backsplash in my kitchen which included tile demo and installed new mosaic tiles. He also installed and finished new hardwood flooring in my whole house. The work was done in a timely manner and was very high quality. Greg was very pleasant and professional in all aspects. He thouroughly explained the work process and was very insightful at answering questions and planning the design. The cost of the projects was very reasonable and I will hire Greg again when I need further services. I highly recommend horing Greg and I have already given his number to several friends who are planning projects in their homes.

Don did a full room. He tore down lath and plaster walls and ceiling and replaced with drywall. I chose facade tiles for the ceiling which were a challenge to install. Don was very patient and did the best he could with them, Manufacturerers instructions did not work. He also removed and replaced original trim and painted. All in all Don did a good job.

Kayla did a great job in repainting our 80's kitchen cupboards, and painting the walls. We also had her refinish our bathroom cupboards that had worn down to the wood. Great gal, ease to work with - and very reasonable!

John was the first person to respond to my request for a painter. He offered me a fair and modest bid to do the job. He arrived at my home the very next morning right on time. He was always polite and happy to explain his plan. He worked diligently and carefully and did an excellent job of painting my kitchen. He went beyond my expectations in every way. The walls looked perfect! I was so happy! He finished by early afternoon, cleaned up everything and left. I am so happy to give him a great review because he simply is a great painter!

We had interviewed several painters before deciding to go with Protect Painters. One of the main reasons we chose them was Janet. She was willing to sit down with us to create a room with just the right colors to reflect the mood we wanted. And she didn't charge us $175 to tell us which colors to paint! Every time we were to meet with Del & Janet the meetings were exactly on time. The meetings were productive and items were resolved at each one. The day the actual painting took place Del came, introduced his men, and instructed them what to do. He later returned to make sure the work was excellent. The whole project, as big as it was, got done in a single day which really meant a lot as my life is so busy! They were able to repair all the damages on my walls and now it looks like I live in a totally brand new house! Excellent job!

We had a water pipe break in our house, A week before our daughters wedding. We had planned for months to have the reception at our home.. The water damaged our ceilings and walls. We had In Town Painters come over to look at our walls and ceiling issues. I explained to Greg of our situation and our plans he was very understanding he was confident that he could put our house back together and paint the rooms that were damaged. He explained the process, the time it would take and gave us an estimate, right on the spot. Not only did In Town Painters come through they started the very next day, his estimated did not change from the first quote he gave us that first day. After they had finished the sheet rock repair and painting you could not tell that there was any damage at all. The reason I really like this business was their truth, the fast pase work process, the price and how they made me feel comfortable and confident that our plans would still be able to go through. I’m thankful for a genuine business like In Town Painters.

Saul (Wilson) was absolutely great! I had a huge amount of interior painting. There was one area that was higher priority due to some new flooring being put in. He had a quick response and was able to accommodate the quick request and quoted a great price for the entire project. I changed from very dark colors (Red, Dark Brown, Burnt Orange) to lighter Greys. He was spot on with the amount of paint needed. Throughout the project (which took a few days) he was always on time, and ALWAYS had very pleasant attitude/personality (which I greatly appreciated). There were a few areas I noticed the old color bleeding through. (He worked a little later at night so the lighting wasn't the best to show the bleed through). I showed him the areas the next day and he took the feedback very well. He made sure touch up the areas I mentioned and said if I noticed any other areas (even after the project) he would come back and touch them up. He had a helper come in a few days that was also very nice. She did a great job helping Saul. Towards the end of the project I asked him to do a few extra items like paint a door and trim that our dog chewed when he was a puppy. He was very accommodating and got the extra areas done super fast. He really did an amazing job. If I ever need any more painting done, he's going to be the person I call from now on. I would highly recommend him and intend to refer him to friends and family.

I am so happy with the work that was done. Mr. Elliott came over this morning to give me a quote. After looking at what needed to be done, he said that he could do the job today. He asked me to get more paints, which I did. Unbelievably, about eight hours later he had completed the project. I could not be happier with his work. I am so glad that I hired J. Elliott Baldwin. Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much do painters cost?

The national average cost for an interior painter ranges between $450 and $900. Interior painters can tackle everything from complete color makeovers in each of your rooms to touching up an accent wall to painting pieces of furniture. The square footage and complexity of the project, along with the materials needed, are the main factors that will affect cost. Other factors include whether you supply the paint yourself or want the painter to do so, whether you move the furniture and do the prep work or ask them to do it, and whether any repair work is needed on the walls. Painting the ceiling and the trim will also have an effect on cost. The type of paint you choose can also raise or lower your house painting cost. A gallon of paint may range from $20 to over $100, depending on quality and brand. Ask your painter if they charge per hour or per square foot, and how much you can save by doing prep work (moving furniture, etc.) yourself.

How much does it cost to paint the interior of a house?

Interior house painting costs are calculated on a few key factors. Nationally, interior house painting projects range from $200 to $2,500. The wide price range indicates how much square footage, paint selection and labor can affect cost. One pro uses a laser to measure each room, subtracting the size of the doors and windows, and then bases the quote on the square footage of the actual surfaces to be painted. Painters may provide you with savings if you opt to paint your entire home rather than just having one room or an accent wall painted. For example, the average house painting cost for an 8x12 room with 8-foot ceilings is roughly $200, when contractor-grade paint is used. Painting ceilings, baseboards and frames can also affect cost. Pros may charge per linear foot to smooth and paint baseboards. In one area pros might charge 50 cents per linear foot to paint baseboards, while pros in another part of the country could charge $1.50 per linear foot for the same task. Painters may charge flat rates for painting door and window frames, with one charging $20-$25 and another $60 per door. Geography and regional costs to do business play a major role in the cost of interior painting. The same painter in a rural region has less to pay in taxes, transportation, insurance and overhead than they would in a major city like New York.

How much does a painter charge per room?

The cost to paint a room will vary based on the size of the room, the type of paint you select, any ceiling or trim work needed, and any repairs needed. If no repairs or other additional work is needed, painting a room with contractor-grade paint could range from $1 to $2 per square foot, including materials. Selecting a luxury paint (some cost more than $100 per gallon) will certainly increase your house painting costs. Here are some additional examples of average house painting costs, per room:

  • 12x12 room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $125
  • 12x12 room with an 8-foot ceiling: about $100
  • 14x16 master bedroom with a 9-foot ceiling: about $150
  • 14x16 master bedroom with an 8-foot ceiling: about $125
  • 16x16 living room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $175
  • 16x16 living room with a 20-foot ceiling: starting at $225
