Pathway music was efficient in answering all my questions. Very helpful in getting us started with music lessons and We love taking lessons from them. They are extremely flexible and let my kids dictate the pace and the instrument they want to work on that week.
I liked the fact that Alex submitted a video quote for me, he has a very professional web site and it was easy to both pay for lessons and schedule a time for a lesson. I appreciated his teaching method which takes into account the fact that I can't read music and I have not had lessons before.
I have only been taking the lessons for less than two months, but I absolutely love them! Jim is so clear in the teachings, patient, and encouraging. He is also very flexible in class timings and easily offers alternatives if one class needs to get cancelled or rescheduled. I was very nervous when I first started the classes (being almost 30 and never have had music lessons!), but Jim made everything seem so simple and achievable. He is a great instructor!
Piano lessons: Knows music/piano/techniques. Informal setting, which I love. But also: very professional approach; is meeting my goals and suggesting others; organized; supportive; appropriately, constructively critical. Financial arrangements clearly spelled out, easy to do online.
My two sons both studied with Shulamit over the course of five years. As a teacher, Shulamit was patient, yet motivating. She has a lively personality that both of my sons responded to. She remained true to her training and philosophy of teaching, yet was flexible when my son's interest was veering away from classical music. Shulamit knew that she was not going to become a different teacher, but she incorporated some popular music into his lessons to try to meet him where he was. As the mother of the student, I have always enjoyed my contact with Shulamit and have felt privileged to be audience to her magnificent playing.
Mike is very thorough making sure he picks lessons and songs that meet his students tastes and skill level. Mike is patient with his students taking time to review a lick as many times as needed. He is also willing to work on songs chosen by his students. He is price is affordable and he is reliable, rarely missing or rescheduling a lesson.
Mark is a very open and kind instructor. He made my son feel welcome and kept the lesson fun.
Carolyn Reisinger teaches two of my children and does a wonderful job. My kids are loving piano lessons and learning fast! She is very professional on what she does, still a very kind and loving teacher. I would recommend her over and over again!
Colton came to our house to teach our 12 yo son and 14yo daughter to play guitar. Each lesson is tailored to the child and his/her capabilities. Colton is humble, able, and both of the kids enjoyed working with him. I like his style of giving a free lesson to see if he's a fit. And, he drove to our house. How can you lose?
Mike is supportive and professional. He has introduced my daughter to many different types of piano music and helped her continue to love music by teaching to her strengths and not putting unnecessary pressure on her.
Owen Sartori at F5 SoundHouse helped my son, Isaak Thurber, learn some new tricks with his music production. It certainly helped Isaak and we will continue to go to Owen for advice and help with new music projects. Owen was very attentive and helpful in every way we had hoped!
My daughters love piano and voice lessons with Michael Kullik
Jonathan is an excellent musician/performer and an excellent music instructor. He designs my guitar lessons to fits my needs as a K-5 elementary music specialist in the public schools. He is patient and kind while maintaining high expectations. I would recommend Jonathan Ehresmann to anyone looking for a high quality music lesson experience.
Hello! As an adult beginner seeking to learn the guitar, I can tell you several things I've discovered through experience. Things I can state with complete confidence. 1) Learning to play guitar can become overwhelming rather quickly! With all the information available on line, through books and from friends who say they can show you, it's quite easy to waste a lot of time learning stuff that really isn't productive over the long haul. Sure, you'll learn quickly at first because you're starting from zero, but once you learn the fundamentals, now what? This is where the majority of guitarists languish for years rehashing the same old stuff and never really improving. You need competent guidance! 2) Speaking of competent guidance, I've had numerous teachers who were really good guitar players but after a couple of months watching them play, you begin to wonder why YOU aren't getting much better. They're good, you're not and you're not getting much better. You're wasting precious learning time. Playing and teaching are 2 separate issues. Being able to relay information is probably more important than the ability to play when looking for a teacher. Phil can not only play but excels at explaining music concepts so they are readily accessible to students seeking knowledge. He was the first instructor I was exposed to who had a prepared, written game plan. A step by step road map to mastering the instrument that he explains patiently and intelligently. He loves both playing and teaching the guitar and it is abundantly clear when you talk to him about the subject. I have yet to have a session with him where I didn't feel that I was better after our lesson than I was before it, and that is the main reason one seeks out an instructor. So they can get better! 3) Phil treats lessons like a professional. He's never been late or surprised by my visits. He is always prepared and that's one of the things I like best. He makes me feel like I'm his only student and that MY progress is what's most important. I'm not just a time slot to fill or a check to grab and cash. No ego or showing off his skills for large chunks of the lesson. My skills and my improvement is what matters most and my entire lesson, from start to finish, is devoted to that. 4) Music theory is a bit spooky, especially for the beginning student. The problem isn't the complexity of the subject but how it's explained and mapped out. Yes it can be complex but in order to truly understand the instrument, you must understand the underlying concepts of music theory. What I liked most about my initial interview with Phil was his interest in what I was looking to accomplish. I was questioned about my goals. What did I want to accomplish. Learn music theory? Learn to read notation? Learn to just sit on the couch and play the blues or rock or pop music? A combination of some of it or all of it? He had a path for any/all of it tailored to my wants and needs. I'm thrilled with the path I chose and my progress on that path but I'm reminded by Phil that the plan can change as I grow and learn which is as it should be. Flexibility in learning means more options which also means constant learning without stagnation or hitting a wall that equates to more wasted time. If you seek professional, intelligent and skillful instruction as it relates to the guitar, I urge you to seek out Phil and discuss your musical goals with him. He has helped me both understand music as well as the instrument. It's quite a thrill to honestly believe you are improving quickly at playing the guitar. I look forward to continuing to improve with Phil's guidance and honestly feel my goals are well within reach. Both my playing as well as my understanding of music is growing daily and I eagerly anticipate what the future holds for me and my guitar journey with Phil's assistance!
My son, Charlie, has been taking music lessons from Josh since he was 10. Charlie, is now a young man, 14, and under Josh's thoughtful and encouraging instruction my son's passion for music has exploded. Josh, as a skilled performer, has shared expertise beyond just guitar lessons with him. Charlie is a quirky kid and Josh took the time to get to know him and figure out how to work with him and get the best out of him. Charlie always LOVES going to his lessons. What he has learned and the things he has created lately are well above and beyond his years. I know it is because Josh took the time to get to know him and design the lessons specifically to Charlie. These lessons are a true value in all respects. As a mom, I appreciate the open communication and flexibility Josh provides to me as well. Josh is personable and able to connect with kids and adults equally well. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is interested in learning to play and expand their appreciation of music.
my experience with piano lessons with Ms Diane are fun and amazing...
I frequently take my grandchildren to their music lessons with Dr Barbara Lamb. Dr Lamb has a vast knowledge of music and of different instruments. My grandson has improved greatly under Dr Lamb’s tutelage, both as a school teacher and leader of The Fabulous Fiddlers through fourth grade and as a private teacher. He is now able to read music in both treble and bass clefs and the tone when he plays has improved greatly. She includes vocabulary slowly, as in the musical signs and terms for tempo, etc. She gently guides him into making improvements in his stroking and incorporates interesting bits of information about the music he is playing. When it is obvious he hasn’t practiced enough she doesn’t chide but instead tells him how and why the music would sound better if he were able to spend more time playing. He enjoys the fact that in addition to the standard teaching books she will coach him on music he brings in, Star Wars themes in particular. When he brought in his recorder and played a piece for her she complimented his playing and also gave hints on fingering and breath technique. She is very patient and when my grandson starts rambling about other things she listens and gently guides him back to the topic. She instilled a love of music in both children and I enjoy hearing them sing when they are in the shower. My grandson says he would give Dr Lamb a 5-star rating, adding that she is nice, patient and she knows a lot. He was very disappointed when she left his school and the Fabulous Fiddlers program was dropped. It had taught him discipline and had prompted him to work harder on improving his cello skills. He is looking forward to continuing cello as he moves on to middle school. My granddaughter has had to drop lessons temporarily due to school responsibilities but she also enjoyed her lessons and progressed well. She hopes to be able to continue guitar lessons in the future.
My daughter has taken vocal lessons from TC Vocal Arts for 2 years. Within a month of starting lessons, she had noticeable vocal growth. Over time she has expanded her range almost a full octave, as well as improving intonation and sight reading. Angela has been very supportive, including attending some of my daughter's other vocal performances and has been easy to work with for scheduling.
I love Ryan already! Can't wait to continue lessons!
Nicki has been giving my daughter beginner flute lessons for 3 months. Nicki is patient with my daughter and is able to relate to her age (8 years old) and give her help holding the flute and reading music. Nicki is a delightful instructor and I have been very impressed at the progress my daughter has made in a short time. I am also taking piano lessons from Nicki after my daughter's lesson to brush up on what I learned as a child. Wonderful, friendly lessons that are so much fun!
Richard has a true passion for music, and it comes through in his teaching. He is kind and gentle in his style, with an amazing depth of knowledge to share with his students. Ricky will help new students learn the foundations of piano - rhythm, fingering, scales, melody, and more. Be sure to ask him to play for you, he has an amazing gift to give.
