FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My rates start at $300 for a local wedding and go up to $800 for travel and rehearsal, depending on how far I have to go and if I need to get lodging. The fee includes a pre-wedding meeting to discuss the ceremony and begin crafting your service, my on-site time for rehearsal, and my day of time both pre and post service. I also take care of returning your license to the courthouse.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First thing once a request is received is to check and see if I am available. If I am not available I will pass on the request. If I accept and submit a quote I will send a general response with a price. I will continue to follow up until I hear from the couple that that have hired me, hired another or their ceremony date has passed. Once a request as been turned over to a hired situation I forward a ceremony booking agreement and ceremony samples. I give the couple a few days to look over the samples and I follow up to arrange a meeting to finalize the ceremony and answer any questions. I will send a copy of the draft ceremony for review. Finally, if they request me at the rehearsal I will block everyone's movements and answer questions and day of ceremony I usually arrive 45 minutes to 1 hour a head to get the license taken care of and work with the venue, DJ or other vendors should there be questions and make sure everything is set for the ceremony.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have two Bachelor of Arts degrees, a License in Theology and a Doctor of Divinity. I was Ordained in 2006 and eventually was elevated to auxiliary bishop after serving as the liturgy guru and canon law expert for our denomination. I currently serve as Episcopal Moderator for the denomination.
