Loyalty Construction really came through with ALL aspects you would hope for in painting both interior and exterior! They were extremely punctual every day that they worked at my home. The quality of work was superb as well as the value I received with their fair estimate of the job. I would hire them again in a minute!

Dominic and his crew did a wonderful job painting the interior of my house. 3000sqft With very tall ceilings and a lot of trim. Mr. Ruggeri was very attentive to detail and helped me through the exhaustive process of choosing what all needed to be done. I wasn’t sure what rooms needed to be painted and Mr. Ruggeri was very patient as me and my husband decided. His guys were very respectful and attentive to detail as well. I would recommend DRPD to anyone looking for a professional, respectful and well priced contractor.

We were contacted promptly by the owner Sean with a bid to paint a small bathroom he was very understanding that we had a timeline and kept in constant communication at first. While we were waiting for the original project to be prepped for painting we decided to also add a small bedroom project to be painted Sean was again contacted and he said he was interested but asked if I would be willing to wait until the evening to discuss the project as he was on another project at that time. That was no problem except he never followed up and we went ahead and painted that room ourselves He was contacted again regarding the original project and was apologetic regarding not following up on the bedroom project. Said he lost my contact information. He was finally able to meet with us to discuss the bathroom project in detail and an appointment was made for Saturday May 12th at 8 a.m. In that conversation it was perfectly understood that this early time frame was imperative since we had to be at work. We offered to meet during the week as well but he insisted that Saturday at 8 a.m was perfect. My husband and I waited until 8:30 and decided a professional would have at least called to let a client know they were running late. When call was made to Sean his wife answered the phone and explained to me that Sean wasn't available and when I told her that we had an appointment at 8 she said he had a family issue and was not there. It would have been nice to have a phone call at the least. At this point our project will be way behind as we will have to now start over to hire a professional and reliable company I suggest thumbtack take a second look at this company before recommending to another person

This was my first time using Thumbtack and I was a little skeptical hiring from online. Within 15 minutes I had 4 bids with different price quotes. I hired Dan after a few communications about my project. He stood out from the others with his knowledge and helpful personal recommendations on staining my deck. He said it would take 3 days with the power-washing, cleaning and painting. He arrived on time each morning with a smile and worked in the 100 degree heat each day. The deck looks amazing! I would hire Dan again if I have other projects in the future. I have already gave his name out to my friends. 2 Thumbs up!!!

I had read reviews on this company and many reviews were vague and others said they were a construction conpany and the painting wasn’t the highest quality because they don’t specialize in it. Hiring this company was our best decision. After pricing other painters we decided to save the extra $2000+ that another painting company wanted to charge us for exact lines and go with a company that was both quick to begin work and really made a effort to make sure we were satisfied. They were professional and quick. They cleaned up everything and any areas of concern were addressed until we were completely happy. We love the paint work they did and considering it was a large portion of our 2100 sq ft they got it done in a quick time frame. We will use this company again for more things in the future and will recommend to friends.

My existing pool deck needed some repair, power washing and painting. Shane and his employees were very efficient, professional and careful when painting....no mess left behind. They also washed and painted our wooden playset which required quite a bit of hand painting. Wonderful job on everything... great men to work with !!!!! Will definitely hire again when necessary!!!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much do painters cost?

The national average cost for an interior painter ranges between $450 and $900. Interior painters can tackle everything from complete color makeovers in each of your rooms to touching up an accent wall to painting pieces of furniture. The square footage and complexity of the project, along with the materials needed, are the main factors that will affect cost. Other factors include whether you supply the paint yourself or want the painter to do so, whether you move the furniture and do the prep work or ask them to do it, and whether any repair work is needed on the walls. Painting the ceiling and the trim will also have an effect on cost. The type of paint you choose can also raise or lower your house painting cost. A gallon of paint may range from $20 to over $100, depending on quality and brand. Ask your painter if they charge per hour or per square foot, and how much you can save by doing prep work (moving furniture, etc.) yourself.

How much does it cost to paint the interior of a house?

Interior house painting costs are calculated on a few key factors. Nationally, interior house painting projects range from $200 to $2,500. The wide price range indicates how much square footage, paint selection and labor can affect cost. One pro uses a laser to measure each room, subtracting the size of the doors and windows, and then bases the quote on the square footage of the actual surfaces to be painted. Painters may provide you with savings if you opt to paint your entire home rather than just having one room or an accent wall painted. For example, the average house painting cost for an 8x12 room with 8-foot ceilings is roughly $200, when contractor-grade paint is used. Painting ceilings, baseboards and frames can also affect cost. Pros may charge per linear foot to smooth and paint baseboards. In one area pros might charge 50 cents per linear foot to paint baseboards, while pros in another part of the country could charge $1.50 per linear foot for the same task. Painters may charge flat rates for painting door and window frames, with one charging $20-$25 and another $60 per door. Geography and regional costs to do business play a major role in the cost of interior painting. The same painter in a rural region has less to pay in taxes, transportation, insurance and overhead than they would in a major city like New York.

How much does a painter charge per room?

The cost to paint a room will vary based on the size of the room, the type of paint you select, any ceiling or trim work needed, and any repairs needed. If no repairs or other additional work is needed, painting a room with contractor-grade paint could range from $1 to $2 per square foot, including materials. Selecting a luxury paint (some cost more than $100 per gallon) will certainly increase your house painting costs. Here are some additional examples of average house painting costs, per room:

  • 12x12 room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $125
  • 12x12 room with an 8-foot ceiling: about $100
  • 14x16 master bedroom with a 9-foot ceiling: about $150
  • 14x16 master bedroom with an 8-foot ceiling: about $125
  • 16x16 living room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $175
  • 16x16 living room with a 20-foot ceiling: starting at $225
