My name is Dawn, and I am an independently licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I can attest to the quality of Anne's graduate work both clinically and academically as we pursued this degree as cohorts in the same graduating class, and served together in the same clinical internship setting. Anne has had excellent training, and is competent in her understanding and use of multiple therapeutic modalities. She has a balanced approach to her work, well utilizing both empathy and counsel. She has a fun and engaging personality with a wit that promotes easy delivery of information even in challenging circumstances. She is competent with a wide range of clients from adolecence to late adulthood and collaborates with her clients to assist with a broad spectrum of life's needs and challenges. I have also known Anne as a personal friend and have seen how she has endured through many difficult life circumstances with strength and perseverance. I have seen the quality and strong ethic of her work. I have also seen her compassionate and engaging personality promote her to high levels of recognition in other work environments and fields of interest. All of this said, I would give Anne a strong recommendation. Her knowledge and skills will serve you well! Dawn G., MS, IMFT Counselor, Marriage & Family Therapist

Someone who genuinely cares, Isn’t afraid to tackle problems head on and is worth every penny. Before, We had been to two different counselors. Both through the preferred list of insurance and We spent almost a year with each. It seemed to be going no where. We were confused and frustrated why we couldn’t seem to gain traction. It seemed like our problems were being tip tied around, we needed practical steps that we could implement that day to improve our relationship and our family. As soon as we reached out to Dr. Marchick she has been there for us 100%. Things started off different, in a good way. We had an initial phone call to see if we were a good fit before any money was involved. Appointment times are flexible and rates are fair. She was able to see that this was our last attempt at therapy/counseling so we hit the ground running. She’s been available to us 24/7. Outside of office hours, in our times of crisis, you name it. Our relationship with Dr. Marchick has been the biggest help to our marriage. She made us feel safe talking about our issues, problems. She’s helping us sort through and find what’s important to us and what isn’t. Setting shared goals and practical steps on how to become closer as a family and rekindle what we’ve lost. Her memory is sharp, and she pushes real change for the better. To be 100% honest, We weren’t sure if the issues and complications we were facing were approachable, we felt like a train wreck. We wanted the best for us and our son. Dr. Marchick took our issues head on and is guiding us through the real issues and work that a marriage takes.

Brenda Shriner tops the list of skilled and effective counselors I’ve had the pleasure of working with. Brenda’s breadth of knowledge and many years of experience combined with her keen instincts give her a therapeutic edge, whether counseling for relationship issues or workplace challenges. I would recommend her to my own family.

My experience with Thrive started approximately 16 months ago. I came to a point where I knew that I needed guidance and help. I was burdened with guilt to an extent that I had never experienced, and it was consuming my day to day life. It was in my nature to resist change, ignore weakness, and not ask for help. All are important, but the third is the most important. I had a long list of counselors to pick from. So I picked one to call first. That phone call established much more than I would've ever thought, and changed my life for the better, helped me maintain my path through bad times, and made something click in my brain that brought back personal interests and values that I had lost along the way. I've never made a statement like that in my life until now. Together we dug myself out of the whole that I was masking from co-workers, friends, family, and all. After about seven months in, I hit a realization that I'd never been happier in my adult life. This took dedication to the process. If you do not focus on positives, while accepting and facing the negatives, you won't get better. That thought process was, is and will remain a necessity in my day to day life. It took time, self awareness, and empathy. So what happens from there....? Life hit me even harder than ever before. Within a seven week window, the combination of circumstances caused the worst pains of my life thus far. Initially, it broke me down. The first 3 of 7 months were brutal, but positive thought was always present no matter how bad the day or week had been - very minimal at times, but it was there. I wouldn't take the period of struggle back for anything, because I faced it. I learned more about myself than any period of my life, what I could handle, and our ability to keep moving forward. My counselor is the only reason I figured this out. Because I asked for help almost a year prior, established a connection with my counselor, put all cards on the table, I was able to come out of a hole - guilt. Then six months later, get knocked into a deeper hole, bc that's what life does. While it was the worst time ever in the moment, it was the best time in terms of mental health, strength and growth. The most important thing I can say is the following - I know that life is going to hit me with terrible moments again. There will be unfortunate circumstances, loss, mistakes made, and on and on. However, I don't worry about it, because of two things primarily. I can accept that certain things you cannot control, and that I will handle whatever it is, get through it, support the others effected, and move forward. My appreciation of perspective that I've gained through my counselor will be instilled in me for the rest of my life and the gratitude I extend is in the hope that whoever is reading this, if you think you might need help, then you do need help, and you need to take action as I did.

I highly recommend seeking help through Micaela. She offers great insight, a relaxed, non-judgemental environment, and an overall great therapy experience. She listens well and will tell you exactly what she sees about a situation whether it is good or bad news. Micaela is compassionate about her work and her clients. She has always answered me efficiently whenever I have questions or need a listening ear. And I am living a happier, more positive life since seeing her. I have seen a few different therapists from around the area in the past, and this is by far the best experience I have had. Micaela is outstanding at what she does.

My fiancée and I actually sought Doug out for counseling prior to our official premarital counseling. Right off the bat Doug made both of us feel comfortable. He listened to both my fiancée and I talk through our thoughts. We would say he made us feel understood and even more impressive he helped us to genuinely understand each other, ha. Through regular and premarital counseling, Doug gave us tons of practical tools to help us then and now. My now Husband and I would both recommend Doug! We are very thankful for him for how has helped us to relate better and grow a deeper friendship. Also we attended Doug's marriage seminar called the seven principals for making marriage work. That was one of the most helpful things we ever did for our relationship. The one day seminar was packed with super practical help and my husband and I frequently reference things we learned from that day. The seminar is also a nice environment to learn and get help that's a little less personally intense. If you are nervous about talking one on one with a counselor, this would definitely be a good/safe/comfortable environment to get some help.
