I would strongly caution anyone considering hiring Handyman Elite LLC. My experience with this company has been an absolute nightmare.
I hired Handyman Elite LLC to install the cabinets in our new kitchen and paid them over $3,000. I expected a professional cabinet installation. Instead, I am now having to bring in another contractor to substantially correct and complete the project.
This is not simply a matter of being unhappy with how something looks. The problems with the installation have been inspected and documented by other professionals.
The cabinets were installed out of level and improperly aligned. The dishwasher opening was approximately 23 1/4 inches when it needed to be 24 inches, preventing the dishwasher from fitting properly. The range opening also required correction. A cabinet next to the range was cut so unevenly that our cabinet company documented that the cabinet needs to be replaced. Other cabinetry was improperly cut or damaged, and there are cabinet-door clearance and interference issues.
The installation had enough documented issues that when our cabinet company arrived to template the countertops, they could not proceed. Their templater documented the problems and required the cabinet installation to be corrected before the project could move forward.
As a result, I have now entered into a $7,000 contract with another contractor to correct and complete the kitchen project, including removing and reinstalling improperly installed cabinetry, leveling and realigning cabinets, correcting the layout, and addressing cabinetry that was improperly cut.
Think about that: I paid Handyman Elite LLC more than $3,000, and afterward I had to hire another contractor under a $7,000 contract to correct and complete the project.
Beyond the financial impact, this has completely derailed our kitchen renovation. My wife was in tears over what happened to our brand-new kitchen, and we are now looking at approximately another two months without a completed kitchen.
I can substantiate what I am saying. I have photographs, signed agreements, written findings from the cabinet company, measurements from the templater, and the subsequent contractor’s written scope documenting the problems and corrective work required.
I hired a professional because I expected the work I was paying for to be performed professionally. I never imagined I would spend thousands of dollars on a cabinet installation only to have other professionals document significant problems that now require portions of the work to be removed, corrected, reinstalled, or replaced.
Based entirely on my personal experience, I would never hire Handyman Elite LLC again, and I cannot recommend them to anyone considering trusting this company with work inside their home. I deeply regret hiring them.
