Writing Services From an Award-Winning Writer/Editor
What do you love about your job?
Writing has always been my passion, and I've been fortunate that my career has offered me such a wide variety of clients, products, industries, media types, and colorful individuals. One day I might be writing a TV commercial or an unusual feature article, and the next day's assignment could be an ad, a video, a website, or a slogan for a T-shirt. Or there might be no work, which means I can sleep late and run errands. The flexibility is wonderful, and very important to my family.
What or who inspired you to start your own business?
In 1997, my wife was diagnosed with MS, my youngest son was diagnosed with autism, and my oldest son was struggling with learning disabilities. I then realized that working from home was a necessary option which would ease a lot of burdens on my family. Fortunately, I had a good stable of loyal clients who accepted my freelance status -- made possible through the then-new Internet technology -- so I sold my interests in the ad/design agency I had co-founded, and then set up shop in a spare bedroom. It's been a wild 18 years since then.
