- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I first got started in fitness in high school playing football and wanted to get stronger and gain weight. I started to read and teach myself proper lifting habits, once I graduated I went to school and studied exercise science but stopped after my first year and joined the Marines. In the Marines I stayed active from pt in the morning with my unit to taking some of my friends to the gym and lifting in the evening and from there fitness became apart of my life and I was being asked to help others on their fitness journey whether to pass a pt test or simply to loose weight. I decided my last year on active duty to get certified so I could continue a career in fitness once I got home in 2013. I pursued my certification and landed my first training job at Golds gym in Virginia I stayed there for a year grand opened a new club and trained clients from all different backgrounds and different fitness levels. Once I moved to NC I decided to continue my education in fitness and worked on getting certified in four other areas of training to complete my personal goal of being a well rounded trainer able work with people young and old injured and healthy.
