FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm currently a member of ISES, International Special Events Society, and have recently received the designation of Professional Wedding Planner through the Association of Bridal Consultants. I attended the Wedding MBA Convention last September and this year attended the Wedding Wire World conference in D.C.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Weddings by the Vine was created from my love of weddings and wine to assist brides who are searching for a unique and creative wedding space. I am very detailed and appreciate events and activities that have a certain flow to them where everything kind of falls into place. While attending a wedding years ago, it became very clear that the family must have forgot about the ceremony details because the wedding party was standing in the back of the garden and didn't know when to start the processional, and I just wanted to jump up and assist. They looked so nervous without someone directing. I also love connecting with the couples and their families as well - it is such a powerful, emotional day for everyone.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
There are a lot of wedding / event planners and my advice would be to check credentials, ask a lot of questions and make sure that you connect on some level.
