Jaime with Innovations Landscaping and Fence Installation came out quickly to look at my project and after about 10 minutes of discussion he gave me an offer. After soliciting other offers and deciding to proceed with Jaime, a month had passed. Even after that time, Jaime remembered my needs and scheduled me quickly. His ability to work quickly, efficiently and cost effectively helped us get our fence repaired and back in working order. I would recommend and will be using them in the future! Cheers.

If I could give Santiago 10 stars, I would. He did a FABULOUS job installing a vinyl gate for my fence - and in addition, he was kind enough to help me with a few other small items that were driving me crazy! He did so with a smile and he did an excellent job - absolutely went above and beyond. I plan to hire him for my next (2) projects. Hire Santiago, you won't be sorry!

I hired this service to clear out my very overgrown back yard, which is what happened to my "natural and rustic" yard after 12 trees were taken down for solar panels on my roof. Without all the tree roots, weeds that I refer to as "monkey grass" took over, reaching heights of almost 3 feet . I had also wanted to get the area seeded in lawn in an attempt to control the weeds. This service came in and got all the weeds mowed down in a good size back yard, along with my brick patio. It was explained to me that snce the weeds were so high and dense, any seeding would be smothered by what was just cut, and it would be prudent to let the cuttings die off over the winter and seed in the spring. I appreciated the honesty rather than making a futile attempt seeding a lawn which would not thrive. I plan to use this service in the spring to start a new lawn, which will thrive, and would not hesitate to recommend this service.

Eduardo installed Bermuda and a step stone patio on my property. Eduardo was professional and went above and beyond my expectations for the sod installation. I was very pleased with the attention he gave the sod after installation to ensure that it was growing properly. I have recommended Eduardo to two friends who are in the process of getting sod laid. I will also hire him for future services. -Tremauri E.

We needed an old wire fence removed and a wood fence installed. Rob was great to work with and did an excellent job. He kept me informed throughout the process and we are very happy with the result. While he was here we always had him work on our front porch which also turned out great.

Tapps did an excellent job on our brush clearing and fence project. They were easy to communicate with and prompt in answering questions and addressing concerns. They are a one stop shop...I intended on hiring them for brush clearing only, but then they offered fence construction services and were able to negotiate competitively for a price. Additionally, they treated the fence after installation. They used quality materials and you can see the expertise in their installation ability. The project took just over a week once started, with a mild delay due to the hurricane. They were able to start the project within two weeks after the contact was signed. I will hire Tapps again for future projects.

The church behind my property had damaged my privacy fence and i called F&J to get the fence repaired from the tree that had been chopped and damaged it. F&J did what was needed to fix the fence how it looked before. There was also other vines and debris that was comprimising the structural integrity of the fence coming from the church's property and they took care of trying to prevent further damage to my fence.by cutting down alot of the vines that were growing from their property onto my fence. They did their best to try to do the job right as to prevent further problems.

Luke Beerman installed a fence around my back yard. As most of my yard is wooded, this was no easy task. He always took the time to addess my concerns and ideas. He went out of his way to ensure the fence was exactly what I wanted and he finished the job when he said he would. The quality of his work is top notch and I would recommend him highly.

We received several quotes to repair our broken fence and James stood out. He was very professional, kind, and patient while we communicated our ideas about how we wanted the fence repaired. He also offered his own ideas for how we could save money. He worked efficiently and the fence turned out great!

Ryan was awesome to work with and did a great job installing our aluminum fence. This was the first 6ft aluminum fence he installed and was very upfront about everything in the process, including challenges we faced along the way. He was very receptive towards any feedback or requests I had and accommodated all of our requests. He was very professional throughout the job and we are very pleased with the results. I have already recommended him to some neighbors and would recommend him for any kind of construction job.

Hired to install an aluminum fence. Came out promptly to determine the specs and very timely submitting reasonable estimate. Although we encountered a delay on my end (waiting on HOA approval), once I gave the go-ahead they moved forward, ordering materials and then installing day after received. Crew worked steady. One mistake in installation which was immediately acknowledged and corrected. Overall, very professional from start to finish. Written estimate, contract, not a cash deal. I would definitely recommend.

Marc did a great job with my fence. I had a 6 foot privacy fence installed with a lot of intricate detail work involved. Marc built everything as I requested and even went back to change some things I changed my mind on. Worked through two days of rain, and showed up each time he said he would. Great price, about half of another quote I received from a local fence company, and great job on the fence. Highly recommend Meadows Contracting for fence installation.

Jerry did an excellent job cleaning up and making sure my property was clean and neat upon completion. I was very pleased with the whole experience.

Very good service and done in a timely fashion. Team of brothers work together and finish the project in the promised time frame. We bought the materials ourselves from Lowe's and paid them the labor charge which was very reasonable as compared to the quote I received from Lowe's fence installers.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to install a vinyl fence?

A new fence can mean added home value, increased curb appeal, and improved home security. The national average vinyl fence installation cost is $4,600. Vinyl fences have a number of appealing qualities such as their durability, their lasting good looks (they don’t weather like wood does), their versatility, and the fact that they require little to no maintenance such as staining. Fencing companies typically charge per linear foot for vinyl fence installation. They calculate their estimates based on materials to be used, height of fence, linear feet of the proposed fence, and the accessibility of the terrain. If the workers need to level the land before work begins, your vinyl fence installation costs will probably increase. Vinyl fences are typically more expensive than wood or chain-link. For example, one company might charge $19-$22 per linear foot for a basic 6-foot vinyl privacy fence. Another company might charge $25-$35 per linear foot for standard vinyl fencing, while decorative fencing with custom detail could increase that cost to $50 per linear foot. For a 6-foot-high white vinyl privacy fence with two walk-through gates (plus demolition and disposal of the old fence), the cost of the total project could run $8,000. A 4-foot-high, 36-linear-foot white picket vinyl fence with one gate could cost $2,600.

How much does it cost to put up a chain-link fence?

Chain-link fence is one of the most affordable options for adding safety and value to your home or business. The national average chain-link fence installation cost is $2,750. Chain-link fences are relatively simple for the pros to install; a fence of less than 150 linear feet can often be put up in under one day. A good rule of thumb is to add an additional workday for each additional 100 linear feet of fence to be installed.

Chain-link fence installation costs are affected by the fluctuating cost of steel, regional labor rates, the height of fence you select, and the features you select, such as a powder-coated finish. The industry standard is galvanized steel, which is rust- and corrosion-resistant. Galvanized chain-link fence installation cost, including labor and materials, is typically $12 per linear foot. For a more contemporary and elegant option, black powder-coated galvanized chain-link fence might cost approximately $15 per linear foot on average, including materials and labor. For industrial sites or businesses, 10-foot-high galvanized chain-link fences may provide additional security, but also have an added cost. A 10-foot-high chain-link fence could cost $17-$18 per linear foot, including labor and materials.

How much is a redwood fence per foot?

A redwood fence is a long-lasting home investment that can add beauty and major curb appeal to your home. Redwood fence installation costs are higher than those for pressure-treated pine or cedar, due to the relative scarcity of the wood. Pricing can vary for redwood fence installation costs based on regional labor rates, current prices of redwood planks, the height and linear feet of the fence, and any custom designs or features. Redwood fences, in addition to being beautiful, are naturally more resistant against bugs and rot than less hardy or dense woods. Redwood fences also generally fare well in wet or humid climates due to their natural oils — which also make them easier to maintain. Materials costs per linear foot for redwood planks can range anywhere from $6 to $20 or more, depending on grade, quality and height.

How much does it cost to install a fence gate?

Adding a gate to your fence can be a practical way to provide access to a yard, work area or outdoor living space while ensuring safety and privacy. Gate installation costs will vary based on the gate material you select, the size of your gate, whether you install a fence at the same time, and any special features you’d like to add. Standard opening size for a single-wide gate is 4 feet; a double-wide gate is 8 feet. A small gate may be for decoration; a double-wide gate can be mounted on a rolling caster system to allow access for cars or wide loads. Here are some examples of average fence gate installation costs:

    • 4-foot, single-swing chain-link gate: $100 for materials and installation costs.
    • 28-foot wheeled chain-link gate on a caster system: $800-$1,000 for materials and installation costs.
    • 4-foot, single-swing wood gate: $75.
    • 8-foot double-wide wood gate: $150.
    • 4-foot white vinyl walk-through gate: $300–$400 for materials and installation costs.
    • 8-foot, double-wide white vinyl gate: about $800 for materials and installation costs.
    • White vinyl gate fence more than 8 feet wide: $1,200-$1,500 for materials and installation.
    • Arched black powder-coated aluminum pool gates: $175-$200 per gate.

How much does it cost to install a wood fence?

Help define your property line, protect your home and yard, and boost your curb appeal with a new wood fence. The national average for wood fence installation cost is $3,250. Wood fence installation costs will vary based on your geographic location, the type of wood you select, the height and style of wood fence you desire, and the condition of your property. Pressure-treated pine is a common and attractive choice that is usually resilient against rot and bugs. Cedar is another budget-friendly option that, although more expensive than pressure-treated pine, can be more affordable than redwood or teak. A wood fence requires maintenance to ensure its long-term health and beauty, so keep future staining and painting costs in mind when you’re calculating fence installation costs. Here are some examples of how height and material affect the approximate cost of wood fences:

    • 6-foot-high, pressure-treated pine fence: $15-$17 per linear foot.
    • 4-foot-high, pressure-treated pine fence: $13-$20 per linear foot.
    • Cedar fence: $18-$25 per linear foot.
    • 6-foot-high, double-sided (meaning both sides are uniform), pressure-treated pine fence with 6x6 posts: $25 per linear foot.
    • 12-foot-high, pressure-treated pine fence with custom detailing: $75 per linear foot.
    • 6-foot-high, pressure-treated pine fence with a custom lattice top: $30-$50 per linear foot.
