FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I generally give a price that includes labor and prep, along with miscellaneous materials (roller covers, mud, etc.); however, the paint cost depends on the product the customer wants to use. I typically like to discuss the paint product details with the customer, buy it through our national account with Sherwin Williams, then charge the customer the exact amount I pay for the paint, and include the receipt for proof. In other words, I don't try to make a penny off of the actual paint itself.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Worked in painting since I was 14 years old (family business).
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My dad has a painting business, so I grew up in it
