JR successfully completed an unusual photo shoot assignment for me, to document a historical property (house and outbuildings), interior and exterior, in order to make a record of the house as it is now, before it is sold at auction. I am neither buyer nor seller but have a love for the home, which my grandfather built. The home is an American Craftsman style home acknowledged on several historical registers. I wanted many photos to document the property, rather than a few artistic photos.
To photograph the property, JR had to make arrangements with the auction company and owner for a private showing of the home and travel out of town to the site. I could not be present because I am out of state. He made sure to arrange the shoot for when the light would be best, midday on a sunny day. He provided 200 photos. His photos capture the warm wood tones of the 1920s paneling. He took special care with many photographic details such as getting the light on the interior stairs.
It is sometimes hard to get someone to do your bidding when you are not there to guide them, especially when the assignment is not a typical job such as photographing real estate for sale. JR was willing to listen and take on the assignment and complete it in the time allocated (before the auction), and deliver the photos quickly.
He takes pride in his work and cares about the quality of his photographs.
