She is a quick and proficient editor. Thank you so much!
Sydney is a wonderful resource on this site! Intelligent, funny, irreverent, and witty. She's everything I've been looking for in an editor for quite some time. I look forward to having a long professional relationship with her.
I am a 26-year-old journalism student at UNC-Chapel Hill with a passion for excellent, effective and beautiful writing. I've copy-edited and produced content for 10 years.
I've been teaching high school English, SAT courses, and IB (college-level) English courses for over 20 years. I've taken many technology courses, and I'm extremely skilled in this area. Also, I'm very personable, and I possess excellent communication skills. I am willing to edit, write, train, etc.
If you're a good writer, I can improve your writing. If you're a great writer, I can do the same. Everything I edit gets a little bit tighter and, usually, a lot better.
Dorothy is an amazing writer, editor and an inspiration to small business owners. Thank you so much for helping me with the content on my website!
General and scientific editing by a Phi Beta Kappa liberal arts graduate, co-author of over 40 peer-reviewed publications in chemical, biochemical, and medical journals. First half hour free for each new client. Personal and confidential services with a turn-around time of 24 to 48 hours.
After years writing my first novel, I had covered most of the bases of logic and editing. I contracted Linda for copy edit just in case. She read and edited, giving praise where due and improvements with encouragement. My novel reads easier now, the story line is more consistent and the text is grammatically correct. I feel far more confident going to print. I have had editors in the past who took pride in taring into my writing, leaving me somewhat crestfallen. Not so with Linda, she combines an excellent talent of what I call "positive editing", i.e. correcting, suggesting and encouraging. I highly recommend her.
After working in several areas of the country, and wearing different hats in those jobs, I now carry around a bizarre amount of knowledge that even surprises me, sometimes.
Mary was a freelance writer for Creative Loafing, an alternative weekly in Charlotte, while I was editor. She was a delight to work with: smart, funny, could write nearly any kind of story and was honestly one of the only writers we had that never missed a deadline. A total pro.
Looking for a creative editor? I can help with concepts and metaphors as well as fixing punctuation. My customers love my flexibility, humor, and sense of what works in writing. I'm a poet and novelist with an academic background, so wordplay comes naturally to me.
Charlotte is the Production Editor for a journal that I work on as one of several Editors, published twice a year. I compose articles for the journal, write book reviews, obituaries, and contribute photos and other illustrations that pass through the Managing Editor for the journal for initial editing, who then passes the material to Charlotte to arrange into a multi-page product, complete with color illustrations. That is where the real work starts, because she has to ensure that column-spacing is adhered to, marginal photos need to be enriched with color and accuracy of content, and eventually provide a draft galley for proofreading. Her experience with computers and the special features that programs involve is extraordinary, and is well paset the point that a beginner would attempt. At that point, the content is essentially printer-ready because there is little to change or correct, a factor of her ability to edit where necessary. The associated good news is that she is well organized and performs what is needed in record time with no delays. I am looking forward to working with her in abouit 5-6 months when the next issue of the journal is due for publication.
Bill Arthur is an EXCELLENT copy editor. Highly professional and skilled. Superior communicator. Knows his stuff. Made excellent general "story" recommendations as well concerning consistency. 5 big stars.
What started out as a wildly-successful resume-building-friends-n-family endeavor turned into a copy-editing/editing grassroots side business. I've always been a self-proclaimed wordsmith with a proclivity for being a grammar nazi, and it was only a matter of time before I realized my dream of editing others' works. And, because this is a wonderful hobby/side business for me, I'm able to meet your needs providing topnotch work for bargain-basement compensation. I simply love manipulating the Queen's English and helping others to realize their own literary dreams.
